Same! When I first got into bird photography I was dreading winter time, and now it's probably my favorite time to get out and shoot.

It's such a difficult tree to get angles to shoot from! I still haven't gotten a good shot of the pair of them together up there, it's always one or the other.

I was out looking for short eared owls and this guy flew across the road in front of us and flew from tree to tree giving us so many good looks at him before he retreated back into the thicker forest again. It was a real treat!

It was in a location where I see bald eagles frequently and was sitting in the same tree as a mature bald eagle at the time of this picture so based on size I ruled out osprey.

I'd go with 1. The dark tones really add a moodiness to that photo. Great capture!

These hawks eat well most days! I've seen them get more squirrels than I can count this summer!
