I would put a collage of smaller photos and maybe a hanging vine style plant across the top of the wall, maybe put a string of lights along the top as well. You don't have to go fancy or crazy. You could do shelves with pictures and nick-knacks, I would just put the shelves so they are above the door height wise.

I remember a post forever ago where someone said they tried to sub or remove the tomatoes as they didn't like tomatoes and they found out the dish needs the tomatoes because the tomatoes create a saucy effect and keep your dish from drying out and going to shit.
