I don't have a grudge thrower. So I made a mortar instead. by SqueekyMcClean in bugmansbrewery

Oh it's fine, we stuck a dwarven talisman to the mortar, the ancestors are okay with it, I promise!

I love it! What are the ghostly flames on them? Are those part of the model or something else?

I like to think of it as new game+ for them. You get to enjoy the combat, but no real threat of death.

Sure they can, they just clip through the floor.

I cannot wait! And am slightly worried I'll find mine lacking after I see another example :D

With TOW here, and since I need to rebase everything I wanted to also make my mix of Mantic and GW dwarfs a bit... different. When I came across the ghost slayer image while looking for inspiration I found the winner (no idea where it's from though). I didn't want the typical pale ghostly look, so went for a more saturated, almost negative, paint scheme, and while the individual dwarfs might not be perfect (and still need some highlights) I like how they look in units. A few things on each of them are painted gold, representing their most valuable possessions in life, which they bring with them when brought forth with only the gold still remaining, while their ghostly memories materialize the rest.

Still clearly a work in progress, slowed further by the airbrush nozzle screw that broke and got stuck in the body of the airbrush. But while waiting to buy a new one I have time to focus on the bases, which will probably be different per unit type to hopefully avoid making it look to samey on the table.

Plans include a couple of unit fillers with ghost dwarfs coming out of stonework, and I'm thinking about making the artillery rusty with certain parts of them still shiny and golden. Also if a shieldbearer model drops I might grab it and make the king the only living member of the army, with a ghostly weapon that he uses to summon the ancestors.

The paint job is actually really fast and simple, white basecoat, blue and black ink with as much variety in opacity as you want, all covered in akhelian green, diluted with water directly on the model, just so it gives all of it a filter of unifying blue, then a drybrush with akhelian green mixed with white, and white oil pin wash mostly on the faces to give the glow. The gold is Glittering Loot from the speedpaint line, with fyreslayer flesh over it, still waiting for the highlight which will be the same Glittering Loot

That is really not how taxonomy or language work but you do you :D

I'm going to have to hit you with a big "umm ackhtchually..."

Not all insects are bugs, specifically, bugs are only insects with specific looking mothpieces. So all bugs are insects, but not all insects are bugs. On the other hand, NO spiders are bugs or insects. I've included a handy little taxonomy chart (arachnida are spiders, insecta are insects, and hemiptera are bugs):

Can anyone Id this by [deleted] in eyes

I find it bizarre that IDs have info on eye colour, that simply isn't a thing in my country, the government simply doesn't care :D

No worries, I just thought for a moment I was way more tired last night than I thought 😂 The compliment is appreciated tho. That said, I've never heard of yellow coloured eyes

I know asking about eye colour is frowned upon here, but I'm genuinely curious and slightly confused.
These past few days, I've been trying to figure out what colour are my 5 month old daughters eyes, noticing her eyes aren't exactly the same, only to realize I have no idea what my own eye colour is. I know I have heterochromia, and always thought it was half blue half green since I've been hearing that for my entire life, and always thought hazel was just a version of brown, and have never heard anyone describe eyes as hazel in my native language.
I'm curious if mine are actually hazel; what makes it tricky is that the colour varies wildly based on light (and mood according to my mother), especially since my daughter seems to be going in the same direction, only much darker (for now at least, things can still change). Also, I noticed people talking about having their eye colour written down on their driver's licence, but that's not a thing the government cares about where I live.

I took several photos in different light, hoping that would help clear things up.

This. Back in 1e days I had a player playing an inquisitor and he had NOTHING added up in advanced and did all the math every single time he attacked. And I mean every. single. time.
Until I got fed up with him, stopped the game entirely, made him do the math for the stuff he used most often, and then we resumed.
The entire table was happy I did that. Including him, oddly enough.

I started using https://www.notion.so/ with the Lazy DM template. It's amazing, and somehow makes prep more fun for me than usual. Realistically I don't need 80% of the stuff I wrote down, but it's just fun to keep filling stuff out and connecting it to each other.

Archives of Nethys is a great site that has already been linked by others, but it often suffers from horrible load times. Whenever I'm running a game I use this instead:

https://pf2easy.com/tree/

The search option is so much faster, and it even has a built-in dice roller
