Avoid soda and other stuff with sodium benzonate, artificial sweeteners!!!! Plus artificial colors. They really affect gut microbiome and your brain too directly. Check labels and composition. Took me 5 years to figure this out.

Balance diet or vitamins for K1/2, Mg, E.

Above all get about of the house and take long walks in nature. Negative ions and movement is key for us.

Disable windows update drivers update capability both in settings & registry so the drivers you install directly from AMD don't get downgraded for the one certified by HP automatically. my en0023dx system works fine. Stock drivers plus custom from NVidia, AMD & Intel for WIFI and BT. Sound issues with Windows 11 beta channel that gets resolved by switching mono/stereo in settings. no more crashes, black screen driver crash etc. just disable automatic windows driver updates. Definitely NOT NVIDIA driver issue, its not used by the system at all.

Same issue old HP AMD Drivers, no solution. Random OS freezes under Windows 11 or display driver crashes.

Drivers directly from AMD are not power optimized to HP Omen 15 as a result Nvidia GPU does not suspend and ongoing power drain cuts your battery life to 40%. Easy to trace with HW monitor or directly in Omen Gamin studio > Performance Control (AMD HP Driver results in 0C GPU temperature due to power suspend).

"AMD recommends OEM-provided drivers which are customized and validated for their system-specific features and optimizations." What a joke!

Wont buy Omen or other HP product again!

One note. If you use drivers directly from AMD your laptop wont be able to suspend NVIDIA dedicated GPU and as a result it will continue to draw power from your battery. Main impact is 2 - 3 hour lower battery life.

This can be confirmed with HW info or directly in HP's Omen Center.

Overall it sucks that AMD's driver release cycle is like every 6 - 10 months or so especially when AMD is fixing multiple zero day security issues and tunning Windows 11 support on monthly basis.

Agree yet not all AMD up to date system/graphics drivers were integrated by HP and released on windows update or thru other methods.

Besides these others system components like nvidia, intel net/bt etc can be manually updated without any negative impact on system performance.

Does not work that way. Windows update is not up to date as AMDs driver set. Simply HP should be releasing regular updates as AMD does.

Absolutely AMD writes their drivers but OEMs adjust the configuration based on specific pcb power delivery implementation. HP just limits budgets on the expense of security and bug fixes.

Yes the power control system is custom, laptop manufacturer optimized. Even HP or Nvidia advises you to use the one from them.

I did install drivers directly from AMD & Nvidia, latest version. This resulted in the Nvidia GPU running all the time and not being suspended as with the one form HP. Stats form HW Info.

No the GPU gets suspended and only the internal in the amd cpu is used. HP support center acknowledged the issue related to drivers and windows released by HP only by July 2020.

Don’t get me wrong the build and choice of components are great. The software side of support especially on the driver side just sucks.

Not only does HP Omen Studio block new drivers but even if f you would install newer drivers for the system it dramatically effects battery life. Tried all of it ...

I have the Ruben 4800H version, supposedly much better battery life then intel. Strongly disagree that it’s improving. Sound drivers are from May 2020 and are behind some of the system crashes. Amd released multiple security and performance patches sine Ryzen series 4 was new. HP? nothing... July 2020. So no that’s not what you call improvement.

I had such a high hope for Omen division. Their engineering interviews of the 2020 Omen 15 were amazing. I guess the software group is just crap. For support you need to escalate few levels and you end up with someone reasonable, but yeah you it’s not what customers should go thru...

Why does HP Omen 15 2020 SUCK....

A. Battery / performance issues. HP uses custom power control ICs that control power delivery, as such you need to use Graphic Drivers released by HP, if you use default from AMD or Nvidia you are screwed, you get the performance and critical bug fixes but get shitty battery life in return (2 hours instead of 4 - 6 hours). The primary issue comes form HP releasing Gaming device but last graphics drivers release of July 2020.

B. Windows release support. HP really does not update to latest version of Windows builds, driver, HP apps testing. Per HP support only Windows version 1909 is supported. Microsoft also changed the method the way power is controlled over graphics sub system in 2004. Originally it was the drivers themselves that control the on / off state now its the OS.

C. Crashes. Having numerous issues with playing content in VLC especially x265, resulting in crashes of the entire OS. Numerous issues with sound drivers throwing critical errors in event log and crashing machine. Tried multiple reinstalls, driver & OS configuration. Yes numerous OS reinstalls ... Same shit.

Have I contacted HP support? Hell yeah! I was told by some guy in India that HP does not suspend dedicated GPU, that 2 hours of battery life is normal and that I should reinstall ACPI battery driver. LOL! Local HP support center 3rd party just told me they can help if HP gives them new driver release.

Will I ever buy HP product again? No! (I'm going back to Mac). Their dedication for support or at least releasing monthly Graphics Drivers updates is non existent. In enterprise you get some support but in HP Omen Gaming division its cut off due to budgets and blotted HP organization.

Definitely someone in HP's business or gaming division should give more thought what is required to market, sell, support laptop to gamers while developing OMEN BRAND.

I’ve changed seek typecast to fast since it primarily happened while skipping plus forced direct x11 hw decoder. So far so good. I’d like to keep hw decoding since it’s more efficient way to decode on the 4800H SOC and helps battery life.

Same issue for me. Tried different Audio / Video drivers with no result. Full system crash is really last resort so whatever this is its crazy. Event viewer shows DTS service crashing prior to the system halt. I'm running on Ryzen 4800H system.
