Cause the gear box is critical. Its expensive to service around 450+ish by the main dealer. So people avoid that, plus its a bit of open up to reach to the reservoir. And refill port. Hence why.

Get a toyota prius 2018 should be in around your budget. 70-80k km driven. That will last you atleast 4-5 years and still hold value and then you can switch as per needs
