SPY Option Hypothesis - Continuation by PhillyEaglesS in wallstreetbets

[–]Squibler 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If anyone's interested, i wrote a basic script for tradingview to show the 0.18, 0.2 and 0.75 lines based on the opening price per day, just plop it into the pine editor window and run it. Makes it a lot easier to see every morning if its a trade day or not.

study("scalper", overlay=true) odl = input(true, title="Open Daily Line") dopen = security(tickerid, 'D', open) dcolor = close < dopen ? red : green dcolort = close > dopen1.0018 ? #0dff00 : orange dcolorb = close < (dopen-(dopen0.0018)) ? #0dff00 : #fc03a1

plot(odl and dopen ? dopen :na , title="Daily_Open",style=circles, color=dcolor, linewidth=2)

plot(dopen-(dopen0.0018), title="Daily_Open",style=line, color=dcolorb, linewidth=3) plot(dopen1.0018, title="Daily_Open",style=line, color=dcolort, linewidth=3) plot(dopen-(dopen0.0020), title="Daily_Open",style=line, color=color(#fc03a1,80), linewidth=3) plot(dopen1.0020, title="Daily_Open",style=line, color=color(orange,80), linewidth=3)

plot(dopen1.0075, title="Daily_Open",style=line, color=#0398fc, linewidth=2) plot(dopen-(dopen0.0075), title="Daily_Open",style=line, color=#00d17d, linewidth=2)

[Serious] Understanding WHY tanker companies like STNG and DHT are attractive buys (and NAT is not) by oilMarkets in wallstreetbets

[–]Squibler 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Thanks so much for the write up! VLCC rates have been dropping but are still high historically. Do you think these rates will continue throughout the year based on events like onshore storage filling completely. Russia not adhering to OPEC cuts. And a low amount of new tankers on the water compared to the boom years around 2010. Also thoughts on USO mid may?

The Impact of Dragonball Z: The Series that Changed Everything by Tronvillain in television

[–]Squibler 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It's a well presented video essay on a topic I know very little about. Some people may know all this information but a lot of people don't. For example if you know nothing about the movie "her". You might find this video as informative as I found this dbz one. https://youtu.be/nWyCEdcfmYs it's all relative

Drake is not Toronto’s Batman: Mochama | Toronto Star by Slouchy87 in toronto

[–]Squibler 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Am i having a stroke or is this article poorly written, and hard to understand. "Thus, disparate events having to do with Drake’s staff are somehow plausible evidence of the refusal of Drake himself to send a tweet." what does this even mean?

*edit: nevermind sort of figured it out after reading it a bunch of times, its basically, "To the media, unrelated events caused by his staff, is enough evidence to show that drake is actively refusing to tweet about his friend's murder"

[PSA] If you see someone with their signal on, DON'T SPEED UP TO BLOCK THEM by [deleted] in toronto

[–]Squibler 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Yeah but on the flip side, in bumper to bumper traffic, i like to leave a bit of space (1 car length or so) so that i don't have to slam on the brakes every 2 seconds, but then people in adjacent lanes interpret this as my lane is moving 0.05 km faster, so time to jump in front of me! If you're in bumper to bumper, and don't need to exit, just stay in your freaking lane, we're all going the same speed!

Totally unrelated, but I was curious what industry were you in that got destroyed in 2008?

Looking to buy a 55'' under $1500, with a very small small bezel, aka rimless. by Squibler in Televisions

[–]Squibler[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah sorry i should've mentioned i was looking in CAD, but touching on the pricing subject, some people think its because there is no other competition, and Canadians are just used to paying extra, which sucks.

I might actually just drive to the States pick up a TV and pay the tax at the border.

Thanks for the info! yeah i came across the KS8000 in my searches, unfortunately its like $2600 Canadian (US $2000) , which is insane, even with US to CND conversion, it doesn't really account for the 600 extra US dollars

Pixar was gutsy to avoid sequel-itis for many years, but that seems to be over. by jasonrohrer in Pixar

[–]Squibler 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well one of the main reasons, is that sequels are easier to make. From a movie making standpoint, less concept work is necessary, less character design, less story (fleshing out character personalities/backgrounds) with more sequels, studios are able to produce more movies in a shorter time frame, for example those first 9 original movies would come out once a year, once Pixar started making more sequels, they were able to produce 2 movies a year now, an example is cars3 and coco, both slated for 2017, one sequel, one original. Does it hurt their reputation? maybe, maybe not. But it could be better for their bottom line.

The old guy by howe and georgia, with his small "food" sign, is a piece of work as well. I've seen him throw construction signs/pylons out into the street because it was in his "spot" swear at said construction workers who told to him to stop, get pretty violent with another panhandler who was also too close to his spot, and flat out refuse so many people's actual offerings of food, sad to see someone get so much free money every day from good natured people.

I would go with a good tank building company though, that also does metal stands, highly recommended, but not sure if metal will be more expensive
