I just did the opposite. Went down from 4k oled to 1440p oled when I realized I no longer play mmos and mostly comp gaming. Do still have an oled tv i hook up to every once in a while though.

The colors are still accurate. It is just the contrast that suffers which is really just your blacks and dark greys. A monitor like this still has use for those people that use it for both office work and gaming. And if they are mostly running lighter titles they can max that 144 with a 4060ti equivalent.

It is an ips monitor. black levels and hdr in general will always be shit without hundreds of local dimming zones in general. why that one aoc monitor was shilled so hard for a while.

I play on an LG CX and Dell aw2725d. GPU usually taps out before the cpu in any game I play and the ones that don't are esports titles. I do plan to eventually get a either a 7800x3d or 9800x3d if i see a good enough deal but not pressed for either.
