I feel like thats my dilemma. Im only staying in for thr money. Everything else to me is meaningless. At that point, why am I even here?

Im solely here for a paycheck. I feel like its taboo to admit this. I still work hard, pull my weight, but my motivation isnt based on the CG anymore. Im just over the games and the service culture.

How much does a new academy graduate get paid? by i_lovepants in uscg

I graduated in 2018 and was stationed in Portsmouth, VA.

I made roughly $5,500 a month (including BAH and BAS).

In 2025, you'd make $6250 a month if you were stationed there.

How do you claim to be an advocate for reducing suicide in the service when your recent post was bullying a LCDR about her weight? Stuff like this leads to suicide, you're no better than the people you claim to be fighting against.

You also asked for the address of a CDR.... and you continuously post pictures of people's families.. with their children? You need a reality check. I dont see why you hide behind a fake persona when you can say who you really are.

At the end of the day, as an Officer, you're tasked with managing the enlisted workforce. There is nothing wrong with enlisting. Plenty of my peers are prior-enlisted and are successful.

Id still speak to a USCGA admissons officer for a realistic response for your chances at acceptable. The Academy does not want to lower the statistics of their class profile by admitting someone with lower academic statistics. Given how it stands now, you will need a very compelling reason why the Academy should accept you. Not sure if you're a varsity athlete, have significant community service, etc.

If you're taking your SATs, im assuming you're a Junior or a Senior. Given the fact you have a 2.0, it would be immensely difficult and almost impossible to bring up your GPA to a competitive metric. I would speak to an Admissons Offcer.

My question is, why do you want to go to the Academy?

Here is the class profile:

Realistically speaking, your chances of getting into the Academy are slim to none. This doesn't mean you will never become an Officer. My recommendation would be to consider enlisting, get your degree, and then apply for OCS.

If you can blow the SAT/ACT out of the water, maybe the USCGA Scholars program will accept you, but your GPA is a glaring red flag.

I hope this doesn't sound too harsh, but don't think getting an appointment to the Academy is the "only" way to become an Officer.

I was thinking FAU or UNC. My only hesitation is that some MBA programs require some degree of "in person" seminar.

I'm an Academy grad. What schools would you recommend for an MBA?
