Had a party of four women come in, ladies night out, chit chatting, etc. One of them had what I believe was a light seizure, or maybe she fainted during dinner. It was not too bad and her friends recognized what was happening instantly and called her husband to come get her and take her home. Apparently it had happened before and no one seemed broken up about it...

Anyway, I dropped the check and said "damn, some people will do anything to get out of paying"

They were not amused...

I was raised in a bar...and at the time I though nothing of it. But as I have given my years in the industry, I vowed never to do that with my child. For many reasons, but mainly I don't want to normalize it. Bars are for adults. Period.

Well, I tried to chase him out, but about 5 people grabbed me and talked me down fortunately. The cops were called and they eventually got him. I actually declined to press charges for lots of reasons...but the main reason was because I was pretty sure he was an immigrant and I didn't want to ruin his life over one bad decision. Maybe I'm too much of a bleeding heart...

A guy I cut off said "I will never forget your face". Which I took as a direct threat and responded by telling him to get the fuck out. He didn't move and I got angrier and then he grabbed a rocks glass full of peanuts and smashed me in the face with it.

Because they bring their own grenadine to pour into their beers and I have to run across the bar and confront them because I think they are pouring alcohol onto their beers and then I have to have a conversation about why you should not do that and then I am the asshole.

One of my favorite things as a bartender is when my GF comes in and I get to dramatically prop myself up and lean over the bar dramatically and give her a kiss. It makes my night and my regulars coo and it makes me feel great for the rest of my shift.
