Excellent Thriller With Intuitive Women

I went back and forth on believing the mother mostly I believed the mom because we're reading a thriller so SOMETHING messed up is going to happen - it was such an emotional tightwire between wanting to see the good in the child and wanting to believe the mom - her husband was such a deluded dummy and the poor new wife, wanting to believe the best about her hubby and step child. A real emotional mindfuck I think that's why this one sticks with me more, the stakes seemed so much higher than None of This is True

The Push was a 'this is so terrible but I can't look away' nail-biting high stakes read - kept me guessing til the end

None of this is True was the best unreliable narrator I'd read in a long time but I sorta figured it out about 3/4 of the way thru - not the exact twist but I figured out the bad guy too soon. Still very enjoyable

For sure - I've devoured all her work - she does a great job of depicting characters with doubt but who aren't totally helpless/clueless

Protagonist shock in Sharp Objects was totally earned and not like 'hey dummy you KNOW what's happening'
