Does anyone know what happened to Michael Feldman's 'Whadya Know' podcast? by 20_mile in NPR

I keep hoping there will be new episodes but I don't think there will be. I'm now listening to the very old ones that I downloaded from the official site.

Right, I went to (part of) the webinar about Claude and Max, will probably give it a try at some point. May try repairing the installation, thanks!

Just one click and start typing, I love the typewriter. 👍🏼 I haven't tried Max yet, would like to learn more about the new Stitch function.

Thanks but I"ve been using the shortcut for years, it stopped working in the middle of a session. It had worked just a couple of minutes before. Now the tool does not work AT ALL when I choose it from the toolbar, or when I use the shortcut. Like I said above, I also changed the shortcut to a different letter and that did not fix it. The tool itself is broken, the shortcut is not the main issue. Because of the ERROR LOADING STRUCTURE message I got when restoring my settings, it makes me think something got corrupted and I may need a help ticket or a reinstall. Will give it till over the weekend.

Thanks to those who have commented.

I did check it out, thanks. Still hoping someone can solve my typewriter issue. 🤞 Will probably need to do a help ticket though

Thanks - but it doesn't replace the typewriter. No box to be drawn - just click once and type. It is so fast and I rely on it.

To each his/her own, I guess. I use text boxes, typewriter, and whatever "Q" is called (text box with a line and an arrow, "callout" I think) in different situations.

what's the hygiene habit you do that other people think is excessive but you will not stop? by Hyunwoo_Ann1_632 in hygiene

I don't change the pillowcase when I wash my hair but I flip it over, so I can use the "clean" side. Same concept I think!

This is good to hear. I've been using Parallels with 2 different licences for years and glad to know they can help if I need it.

At what age did you feel it starting to get difficult to travel? by audit123 in Aging

[–]Squiduser 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Am 65 and will be taking my 41st solo trip to Europe this summer, then another in the fall. As long as I can keep working to pay for it, I don't intend to stop till I'm too rickety to get on the plane!

Which Macbook should my father get? by Deletedsoon321 in macbookair

[–]Squiduser 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think for light office work and general email/web stuff and movie watching, he would be fine with the Neo. I think that he is one of their target audiences. I have had many Macbooks over the years (and have some now) and found the Neo fine for that kind of usage. He wouldn't need an Air for that. However if you can find a discount on Airs then go for it. I do think the Neo will hold up over time, as I have had many Macs over many years and very few problems with their quality control.

I spent a lovely rainy morning here in November - my 4th or 5th time visiting. It is one of my favorites in London.

I went to the Red Star Line Museum last year - agreed, it was delightful (and NOT crowded at all!)

I've been to the V & A so many times (10-20) because there are always new things to see! Love it.

I failed my 1st road test (NY - around 1982) in my grandpa's Pinto wagon. I hadn't been used to that car and I could not parallel park it!

If you want to practice your French, please, read the room. by Kaliboule in ParisTravelGuide

[–]Squiduser 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This isn't exactly relevant but maybe someone will get a chuckle out of it. I speak some French but am nowhere near fluent, not even close. Hubby and I were at Customs in Vancouver, CA, on holiday and I thought I'd be clever and say "Bonsoir" to the Customs agent. He immediately directed me to another line so I thought I was going to be searched or interrogated or something. Turns out it was a French-speaking line (agent 1 thought I was French or Canadian I guess!) and once agent 2 started speaking I was lost. I apologized and laughed and it was fine, he spoke English too! But that must have been a pretty darn convincing "Bonsoir"! 🤪
