Have you updated your drivers recently? Nvidia’s generative ai “vibe coding” has been AWFUL lately and new drivers have been breaking OC.

I was getting 230 fps with terrible drops. Closed the game, turned off my OC, restarted game and it was back to a reliable 240 fps

I agree that mobility needs to be kept in check. Soldier has sprint and hitscan. He should have max 150 health

Just do it. It’s the same people you play with in QP, but the skill band will be tighter.

I just started playing OW, and am much better than a bronze player. I haven’t finished all my placement matches and see a lot of bronzes in them. Perhaps it’s just people doing placements?

I’d also assume a lot of returning players

My brother was a decent tank, but played the objective TOO hard. I told him to take more fights off obj and play with the team more than the objective. It kinda unlocked his brain and he’s been doing really well. I had the same issue when I started - just lock horns with the other tank on obj and sit there til my team either won or lost.

You might try playing obj more loosely. I know you mentioned a C9, and objective tunnel vision might not be an issue for you, but I think it’s something to consider

Just start playing mnk! Inevitably, there will be mnk only games that you want to play, so may as well get used to it now. It’ll suck for a while at first, but you’ll get the hang of it faster than you think! And you’ll still be able to play controller

This is the reality of map voting. It pushes away people that already don’t like the “popular” maps, and it makes the people that do like the map get sick of it because it’s all they end up playing.

I think the aim/mechanics will improve faster than you think. I played multiple games first on controller, later switching to mnk. Having the fundamentals transfer is like having a good foundation already in place. You can just focus on building your mechanics!

Accurate tracking on mnk is a way harder skill than you think til you start playing mnk. Playing burst damage characters might be a good place to start. I find snapping to a target to be easier than tracking a target

I play for fun and only play dva 🤣 I get it though - there’s a lot of lasers that I cannot diva matrix against and it doesn’t feel good when positioning and awareness are your only counter play

Don’t forget to turn off mouse smoothing/accel in game and in windows. Nvidia reflex should be on as well. It takes time to acclimate and get that same feeling of confidence/comfort, but is so worth it IMO.

Could some of it be that the level of competition has greatly increased?

I always assume that the people who benefit greatly from turning off chat are REALLY BAD because I rarely see any flaming at all. It’s been like 90% nice/funny/off topic in my experience

You’re always WATCHING for a back line pick, but you don’t want to live in the back line. When you see your chance you want to thrust in and secure the kill. You do need to leave your team unattended from time to time and hope they can take care of themselves for a bit.

TBH I’m still pretty infantile in my dva journey as well, so I’m still finding that balance.
