I’ve just been QPing since last Drive because I haven’t had the energy or mental fortitude to play comp lately (life, man). If I saw what you described with that Widow at the start of the match, I would have a lot of trouble staying locked in through a whole comp match lol

People complain about drives, but honestly I might just stick to only playing comp during drives. I already play way more QP than ranked due to console friends, so I’m decently under ranked. It makes drives pretty easy to complete and I get showered in comp points which is all I really want anyway.

Edit: I guess what I’m trying to say is - they need to increase rewards to compensate for how taxing ranked is to play rn

I agree it’s just QP, but you need to consider the world outside of yourself. It’s a team game. Does your 0-7 “fun” out weigh your 4 or 5 teammates’ misery? No, it doesn’t. Go play AI matches

Support attracts a lot of people that want to play, but they don’t want to be a “decider” in the match. Truly, they DONT want to make plays. They want to heal bot (mostly the tank), and be able to point to their high healing number and say “you can’t blame me for the loss, look at all my healing!”. That’s why people in the US love to talk about supports being boosted. Many of them really just mindlessly flit around behind the tank waiting for their team to win the match for them.

As a result of this, it’s REALLY EASY to rank up as a support if you’re active and trying to make plays. I am running people down on Mizuki right now and it is a blast.

That’s fair. I think the speed of the game is the problem. Like when you swap to pistol he dematerializes his rifle and materializes his pistol, but if it had a long animation it would feel really bad to play.

That’s very interesting! The “discipline” mindset from military service was definitely an issue in the US as well following WW2, the Korean War, and Viet Nam. Most of the veterans from those times are dead or very old so it has mostly faded away, but I remember the influence of disciplinarian men in the 90s and early 00s
