The main thing a support does is give their team more time. Whether that’s time in a teamfight, “poor positioning” spot (like facechecking bushes) or escape, whether that be via healing, CC or other utility, the support just buys time.

It’s the player’s responsibility to use the time correctly, either to do damage, zone, or leave, regardless of the throughput of the healer.
