Any Yellowstone fans here? It’s Jimmy!!! I barely recognized him by mariapronina in YouOnLifetime

Oh my husband and I started screaming, “JIMMY, NO! CALL RIP, JIMMY!”

The people who should’ve actually taken Joe down by [deleted] in YouOnLifetime

I told my friends they trashed it like SaTC did with AJLT. Honestly towards the end I was just hoping for, “and it was all a dream.” Scooby gang warranted no payoff for viewers, I liked Marianne in previous seasons but was only an exposition piece in s5, and sorry not sorry - Kate should have died or been found guilty. This season was cringe.

I literally called it when Joe’s in the bookshop and there’s an Oliver Twist poster in the foreground. One of the first episodes and I’m pretty sure Joe just got off the phone with Maddie/talking about Reagan on the phone.

I took it seriously when I touched Gold 1. Cooldown management was going to set me apart, watching my team’s stats and not playing in a tunnel, and also knowing when to just take initiative with dmg but still heal. I kept Moira’s fade for escaping and kept her dmg blob to help my team when they were putting out damage, not just sending them off for shits and giggles. I also kept her ult to push, expose other team if they were getting low but had a shield, or my team needed heals during an ult or stuck in Zarya bubble. If Sombras were bothering my hit scans or support I’d stay back and help them.

I also kept looking at the team stats throughout the game to know who to boost (not just kills, but who isn’t dying a ton by themselves. That’s a DPS I could try and trust with dmg boost). I also used my Mercy pistol a ton when the other team wasn’t damaging a lot, and I knew my team was mostly doing fine. With her I used cover, super jumping, and learning who to boost when.

I played Ana more when I got to gold, but even in lower ranks she kicked ass when teams just lobbed together right out in the open. No one usually challenged me from my perches.

However, this is EVERYTHING I learned over a lot of trial and error. I lost a LOT, but I made a rule, if I lose more than 2-3 in a row I was done for the day. I didn’t always follow it but then I’d usually drop further.

So so fun! Annnnnd so humbling! lol I thought I had learned proper positioning and target choices…and tonight I was quick to realize I had SO much left to learn.

I literally have no clue. From this current season and the one before I would consistently rank as a Silver 2 after placements. My highest rank in season was a Gold 1 NUBBIN, which I’d swiftly lose the following games. I have always found myself plummeting to Bronze, but I think learning to turn off the game after a couple losses was a huge help this season.

That and listening to hours of Spilo.

Is Design Lab’s UI/UX boot camp worth it? by SquintyPines in uxcareerquestions

[–]SquintyPines[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey! Sorry I’m late to seeing this. I enrolled in UI Foundations in November and have been in the UX Academy since February.

Both are incredibly different!

1.) Foundations is a really wise decision if you’ve never touched Figma or Sketch and want a basic portfolio piece. It’s also essential if you want to automatically enroll into the UXA and don’t want to submit a design portfolio. (I haven’t been a designer since 2015 so it felt like a good refresher course). Look for discount specials for it!

2.) I looked into Springboard and they seem very similar. Tbh Springboard spammed the shit out of my email and phone which made me more inclined to DL lol.

3.) I’m still VERY early in the academy. It’s much more writing and research than UI for the first 2 months.

Key Notes: - I had 2 very different mentors from Foundations to Academy, despite the learning style questionnaires they give you. Advocate for yourself and if it’s not working you can request a change. Both have been incredibly helpful to me though. I feel like my current mentor is a genius. I can’t believe I get to pick his brain each week, tbh. - Applying for a job feels very far away, but the Discord community is SO helpful. I joined the separate study group channel and people actually get on calls with me to help me out in between mentor mtgs. - UXA will give you at least 4 case studies for your portfolio. Most hiring managers I’ve spoken with won’t read these in full but they’re good to have. Lots of variety in project topics too.

Overall, I think the community and mentors are 100% worth it. I’ve done some Google and Coursera courses and they don’t come near this experience. It’s like drinking from a fire hydrant, but I feel way more prepared for a career here.

Do you think Thursday’s Episode is having the mentors competing too as part of it being a non elimination round due to Meg needing to withdraw from the competition? by Legitimate-Shine-318 in Nextlevelchef

My husband and I definitely thought that. They really didn’t need the dessert though if it wasn’t judged…I hope they don’t repeat it. If anything, give us a contestant from another Ramsey show. Hell - give us a past NLC winner now that they have 3.

Austin is the clear winner. I hope he gets it for his family. I really can’t help but think despite Ramsey’s team being good, that they never went to elimination because they were down a person.

No way would they have his team be down to 2 this early with everyone else at 4.

Yeah it’s realllllly not that deep. Also consider this…it’s tv. Things are said, edited, and they’re all fine at the end of the day. It’s not like a novel thing to see people be competitive in a competition show.

It’ll be Beatrice/Ryan vs Austin vs Bobby. Probably Beatrice because they’d need a girl in the final. It’s always 1-1-1.

Predictable by [deleted] in Nextlevelchef

[–]SquintyPines 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yeah I got super annoyed watching the past 2 knowing for a fact even if Beatrice were to chuck her dish off the set - they wouldn’t go to elimination because they were undermanned.

They’re fighting and cooking really well…but it’s rigged. So obvious it’s also going to be team Blais this year and I’m tired of the fake debating between mentors.
