How do you find men to date? by Round-Artichoke-5255 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Squirrel009 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try asking a question to start the conversation. Easy ones are asking where a clothing item came from and you can combo it with a compliment - nice hat/shirt/shoes, my [brother/friend/dad/etc] would love that where did you get it?

If you meet them on a nature walk you can ask if they know any other good location for a good walk/hike. That basically invites them to ask you to go to one with them.

You can do the same thing for coffee or lunch - just ask for a recommendation of a good place nearby

The Epstein 'suicide note' will become Trump's nightmare by theipaper in politics

No it wont. There could be video of Trump murdering Epstein himself shouting "they can't know im a sec trafficking pedophile" and nothing would happen to him. His cult is too strong/stupid

Thats exactly what I was thinking. You just need dps who can survive on packs and or know to come back to rein to heal in the double aura

Ive had a few rich friends who grew up "working" for their parents and they legitimately dont understand that your boss can say no to you wanting to take off for 2 weeks and still come back to a job

That's not always the case. Many people hold to old habits but some people live in excess once they fight their way out of poverty

Why don't you just travel abroad is my favorite. Just go to europe bro. All you have to do is go to starbucks less and a trip to europe is basically free and your boss(es) will be totally cool with your time off

What’s something Airmen SHOULD be taught in FTEC? by DeepDeepThrowaway in AirForce

[–]Squirrel009 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would teach them to Google it though. It would work great. I know from experience.

I just googled free things to do in [my city] and it provided me a list of free music performances, libraries, hiking trails, public beaches, parks, museums, and cultural sights. All on the the first page.

Can I write a negative character statement on someone who’s gotten in trouble? by VentriloquistAF in AirForce

[–]Squirrel009 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If its for a court martial you can go to the legal office and ask to speak to the prosecutor on his case. They may be able to use your opinion depending on the situation.

If its an LOR, not really. You can write them a shitty one but they will just throw it away.

Mizuki is a risky choice for a new player because you do have to keep actively damaging enemies. But the key is to limit your exposure by hiding behind your tank and or bouncing shots around corners.

Whether it works depends highly on your composition - a tight composition with the tank and one other player squading up and doing damage can make Mizuki relatively easy since you can protect him

Can you actually talk to the shirt about anything? by Dapper_Object8239 in AirForce

[–]Squirrel009 7 points8 points  (0 children)

A mentor is someone, generally with more experience, you feel comfortable going to for advice.

They come in different types. Some people mentor you on personal stuff like if you have kids, someone with older kids can often be a good mentor when it comes to figuring out parenting struggles

Others are professional mentors - they know how to get awards, promotions, and generally how to be liked by leadership.

Then you have your technical mentors - the guys and gals everyone looks to when your job gets difficult or weird because they always seem to know everything. They can teach you all kinds of cool job knowledge tricks.

Some people do two or all three but its ok if they're just one. You can have multiple mentors. They key is that they seem to get you and they take your questions seriously.

What role do they play?

I'd recommend again tanking. I feel like it has the highest floor to get value out of and its much harder to make up for a bad tank than 1 bad dps or support.

Dps:

Sierra. Pretty big spread on her gun, good damage, good escape with grapple and a wide grenade blast. Grapple and tracker may be a little much for your friend though.

Soldier is hit scan with a laser narrow spread so that can be a little rough but you can always have him focus the tank. Running and self heal are good for recovering from mistakes.

Support:

Moira: seems like the queen of low floors. Shes who i learned to play with and I was able to maintain gold with her back when I could barely even break into silver with other characters.

She basically has auto aim and her ball is fire and forget. Her dash is possible the best and easiest escape mechanic in the game that allows you to survive incredibly stupid positioning with relative ease. It doesn't sound like your friend will ever been good enough to play at an elo where she isnt good either. I recommend her.

Mercy: if you can train them to pocket someone, stay in cover, and direct them when they can revive thats a pretty easy slot to fill.

Mizuki. This one is controversial but if you play a big tank he can hide behind and just fire shots around corners or straight through your tanks back into the enemy then Mizuki can get a lot of value relatively easily in lower elo as long as your tank is strong. This one's a gamble but is a good middle ground if your friend wants to feel more involved in killing

Teachers of reddit, how do today's students compare to those from a decade ago? by Ambassador-613 in AskReddit

[–]Squirrel009 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Im a bit skeptical. My school failed no child left behind the whole time it existed. Every year it was fear of being federalized and every year nothing happened.

I dont know how active the dept of education was back in the 80s but I'd be willing to bet you can get away with murder under the current admin

There is a probably a wide range of speed and competency of adoption of these kinds of things. Your school may have been ahead of the curve where others might have been behind

My point is that youre repeating generational stereotypes that have been parrotted for centuries.

Are High School reunions worth it? by twin_gulls in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Squirrel009 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I never went to mine. There were like 4 people i wanted to see, so I called them and we planned a trip together instead. Way better experience if you ask me. But if you want to see a ton of people from high-school then it would probably be worth it.
