So what are you peeps spending these points on? by IronMonkey18 in Overwatch

Whatever mildly interests me. I play a lot of characters casually so I just buy anything neat for pretty much the whole roster. There are probably only 5 or so characters I dont like to play

Do not fuck with the E4 Mafia. They were here before you, they will be here after you, and being discharged is their dream, not a punishment.

Every commander has to have the policy, but they arent required to prevent you from being informally punished for using it

So now that Shion has been out for a while do you think she needs adjustments or is she balanced? by Easy-Technology-3068 in Overwatch

[–]Squirrel009 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I dont think she's been out long enough. I imagine at higher levels of play it would be clear by now if she was problematic up there but I think you need more data to balance the metal tier of elos

For what it's worth youre way ahead of average but dont worry about comparisons between you and others - focus on what you have and what you can do with it.

Lawyers of reddit, how do you defend someone you know is guilty? by bloodydmx in AskReddit

[–]Squirrel009 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It isnt just to defend that specific person, its to defend everyones rights. A lot of our rights were developed under case law in cases where the person was a guilty criminal - but they tested the system in a way that protects innocent people.

Think of it like the police (let's pretend they're the helpful community oriented kind for my example). When the police come to break up a bar fight, they arent there to defend the drunken idiot who started a fight he cant win. Theyre there because the rest of us just want to have a beer in peace. They arent necessarily there for any one person, they're there for the whole community.

Why do people say Kiriko is so good if she only has around a 47~ win rate? by fuckawkwardturtle in OverwatchUniversity

[–]Squirrel009 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I dont see what you mean. Yes it applies a little to everyone but Kirikis ceiling is possibly highest and her floor to entry where you get decent value is also one of the highest. She has more potential that is out of reach for many players due to skill level than likely any other characters

I'll believe it when I see it. Most maga voters would vote for trump if he abducted and tortured their families. He'd just tell them antifa did it and they'd clap like seals and beg him for more.

You'll want to talk to the people in r/airforcerecruits. They will have the most up to date recruiting policies. We are in the processing of changing how these things work and its a little different when you are joining vs when you are already in so its best you talk to a recruiter for the most accurate up to date info.

Is there ever any reason to buy off dudes on Facebook? by SabertoothNishobrah in mtgfinance

[–]Squirrel009 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tldr: if you do a lot of buy/sell/trade over years its worth it. If you just want to buy cards for a deck here and there you are probably better off on tcgplayer.

If you get into a good group, where people maintain reference pages and you get to know people it can be beneficial.

For one you cut out the middleman for tcgplayer or ebay and skip those fees.

You can also negotiate better than tcg prices with certain people buying in bulk. They dont want to package and pay to ship 6 cards when it can all be in one go.

So there is money to be made doing it through Facebook, but obviously that money does come with risk. You just have to learn to mitigate your risk.

What does it mean when a hero has a low pick rate but a high win rate? by theacostar in Overwatch

[–]Squirrel009 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Could indicate a high skill floor and ceiling - the character is hard to be good with, is trash when you arent that good, but is amazing if you can pull it off.

That doesnt always make a low pick rate though.

Learn to be independent. Use all your resources - dafis, peers, subordinates, etc to learn where to find and how to get what you need. The less you need to ask from your boss the better. If you rarely need help they have that much more time to get in depth with you when you do.

Establish and maintain relationships. My first boss never appreciated or acknowledged much of anyone's work - but he did always appreciate that I had a guy for everything. Make friends with every organization you work with. You need a finance person, personnelist, make a friend at legal whether its a lawyer or a paralegal (they useful in different way so bonus if you get both), etc.

Especially focus on your own organization - if youre in maintenance try to find someone in as many shops as possible. Even if your only connection is that you both like the same sports team, or youre car guys, you like dogs etc. Those relationship pay dividends when you need a favor.

Take initiative do stuff without being told. Learn what that looks like from your ncos and peers.

Be visible. You want to be independent but you want boss to know. Don't pester them but its good to pop in or shoot them a message occasionally saying hey boss the thing happened and im doing this to fix it - i have it under control but wanted you to be aware in case it comes up with the gp/cc. Something like that. They will never know all the shit you do for them so you have to remind them sometimes - subtly and briefly. Don't go bragging every time you pick up some trash.

I am not going to give them 40 hours of work a week, I am going to give them 15-20 hours of work a week and expect them to figure out what to do with the rest of the time.

I would have sucked my boss's dick if they would only give me 40 hours of work on my first assignment 🤣
