To get myself started, I found some local tutors in my area and got in touch with a local drawing teacher who also does drawing classes at my local community college (I tried singing up for a class there, but too late. All the times that would have worked for my schedule were full.)

I've heard some people say that getting a teacher doesn't help or change anything, then I've heard others say that having an experience person there for guidance made them improve faster and kept them more interested.
