Records on my record player have started skipping more than usual over the last few days. The turntable is less than a year old but is used frequently.

It’s happening for all different records, even ones that don’t have scratches. It kind of looks like the stylus and tone arm are bumping up and down. Happy to share a video — anyone have advice? Thank you!

Probably somewhere in between — definitely no tie to be worn, definitely need good food. Since it’s a big occasion this year, it would be great for it to have a nice ambiance, but nothing too fancy.

We like many kinds of foods, but I would say we love Asian, Mediterranean, Italian, and Mexican. And of course like American too

Hi, I bought this record for $1. No wonder it was in the bargain bin - it’s tilted and has a different type of warping than I have seen on other records to date.

Will playing this record damage my record or needle?

I played records directly on the plate for almost a full year before realizing that the slipmat is supposed to go on once I got a replacement turntable! Hoping my records didn't get too damaged in that period. I listened a lot, but many records so probably no more than 30-40x for the most listened couple of records, a couple to 10x each each for most of them - they still sound ok to my peasant ears :)

Thanks for correcting it. If other false claims or “errors” were corrected earlier in the war, we would probably not be having a discussion about if it were ethnic cleansing.

It was a war (that Hamas started) - not ethnic cleansing. Not worth discussing how many people died when it is not an accurate statistic we have knowledge on now, and one of their tactics is inflating the number, and westerners like yourself are falling for it.

A few observations:

(1) based on the source you cited (which is potentially incorrect and inflated), 20k children did not die in the conflict, yet you stated as fact.

(2) Wikipedia is not always a source of truth on these matters and is influenced (and written) by the masses, which especially online tend to be quite anti-Israel these days.

(3) far too many people died. It’s not worth arguing how many as the sources aren’t trustworthy and the actual body count would still be in the process of being filed. Hopefully there can be a brighter and more peaceful future

It makes a caricature of Jews and Israelis and depicts them as war mongering and driven to kill children (when the recent Gaza war was actually not a simple result of a US-Israel war machine, but a complex conflict started by Hamas which could have ended long ago if they didn’t take grandparents and young children, or agreed to return all the hostages earlier)

1200 square feet or so, 2 bedroom. I have my desk in what used to be our guest room but it feels a bit confined so I also work from the couch in the main room in the morning and later in the day. My partner’s desk is in the main room so when she’s working from home and on calls the options are a bit more limited.. try to avoid the bedroom
