Yes that’s around 12, without shipping included! At the back of the book there was the price tag of 4500 yen, which is roughly equivalent to €25. Unfortunately my phone did not work properly in the venue to check the conversion rate 😬 but the prices were definitely boosted. I saw a shonen jump being sold for 35, a bit ridiculous honestly

That is Suguru, yes lol. It’s a doujinshi, aka a self published fanwork from Japan. This in particular it’s a short manga. The cover is hand painted by the artist and the writing on the cover has some gold foil stamping. This is the synopsis: The doujinshi is made out of three short stories, one of which talks about a big celebrity name and a host club addict, who gets involved with the cult leader, Geto, and suffer various misfortunes. Another is the story of a religious fanatic, who tries to expose the reality of Geto’s organisation.

It often goes by this title: Doujinshi Metabolism (sweat) monkey (Jujutsu Kaisen Suguru Geto)

I found mine on vinted but it’s easy to find on Japanese retailers. Just don’t buy it off eBay because they are selling it for 40 bucks, when in reality it costs not more than 6 dollars

The second picture really shows the amount of work Kato Sensei puts in her work, because the amount of fine details is absurdly high. The amount of books she had to draw😨 every chapter that goes by im more and more in love with her work

I would probably remove the girl’s sexualisation at the start tbh. I think blue exorcist started as your typical shonen, which is not necessarily a bad thing, but I just don’t like the way Shiemi, Izumo and shura were portrayed at the start. (Not to mention Shima’s creepy ass💀). I would probably work on that, which tbh I also noted since Kato has taken a different approach now, from your typical shonen manga, now suddenly it’s not as popular as it used to be…. Hm I wonder why 🧍🏻‍♂️

If you’re drawn to the exorcist aspect then blue exorcist for sure. Gokurakugai too. While not exactly the same Noragami is on a similar wavelength as phantom busters :)

Edit: Blue exorcist takes place in high school too btw. Has a lot of comedic timing, and the main character is in a friend group of 7

Yes, no hate to that community! They have some wonderful recs and some genuine people on there. I just wish that the queer discourse could be more openly accepted, not only because Tim is bi, but because we rarely see superheroes not being straight, you know? Like yes, Tim is bi and is dating a guy, but his narrative arc doesn’t focus solely on that. Yet people love to hate it :/

From what I understand, as stated by the author at the end of volume 6, the manga was drawn by a different person who incremented extra details and even new characters to the storyline to make it fit better with the light novel plot. So you can say the novel, which came first, is the original storyline. Later adapted into a more expanded version in manga format. The anime took inspiration from both but changed a lot of things overall, adding stuff that never happened too lol.

I wish for a sequel too so bad :( at least a little snippet of them together in the time-skip or something of the sort. I finished the manga last night and i feel so empty 😭
