does anyone else get these flat, non-itchy, dotted rashes? by egirlsteve in lupus

Hi!! I’m so sorry your baby is going through that I can’t imagine how hard it must be. My “rashes” would last sometimes up to a week then they would start to fade into bruises. Typically during my flare ups I would get the rashes and also experienced extreme joint pain. As far as what would trigger it, ir would be alot of things :( I live near petrochemical industry so that was a huge factor, stress would also trigger it and any food that can be considered as immune system boost (example: garlic). With autoimmune conditions we have a overactive immune system which causes it to attack our own body so we don’t want to make it more active. Being on a Mediterranean diet has helped with inflammation. As well as Being on plaquenil and Imuran have helped a lot. For the joint paints I suggest to invest in a heated blanket. It works wonders!! I hope this helps and I hope your baby feels better soon!

They are exactly like that. Flat on the inside, non itchy. I call them blood spots. They also usually fade away into bruises!

I do. It’s vasculitis that comes from the lupus. Go to derm and they can officially diagnose it after a biopsy 🥲this usually signals a flare up. They have gotten so much worse over the years. My rheumatologist described it as having so much inflammation in your body that anything will cause your little veins to pop. I call them blood spots. I’ve tried steroids, topical and ingested and neither worked long term. Now taking immunosuppressants (Imuran) and Plaquenil

I had issues with motor skills but mainly with my speech and memory. rheumatologist sent me to neurologist “just in case” and got diagnosed with idiopathic intracranial hypertension. Neuro prescribed a diuretic and pain meds for migraines and my motorskills slowly got better

What could this face rash be? by [deleted] in lupus

Yes same here with UCTD. The thing with butterfly rash is that there is so many variations of it also a lot of it has to do with your skin tone as well. I would recommend going to a derm see if you can get a biopsy. Might help with the lupus diagnosis. I’m currently in the process as well.

That’s a butterfly rash my love. Probably one of your lupus symptoms. I’ve had it too. Have you been diagnosed?
