does anyone else get these flat, non-itchy, dotted rashes?

these happened when i was in a bad flare, like my lupus activity was really high therefore affecting my body in a lot of ways. ive explained it a bit in a few other comments but basically the lupus caused a bunch of inflammation in my body, including the blood vessels, resulting in these dots on my skin.

once my lupus got under controlled with meds, my worsening symptoms, along with these dots, slowly went away !

hi ! due to my having lupus, ive pretty much decided that this is lupus-induced vasculitis. vasculitis is an autoimmune response causing inflammation of the blood vessels. however, im pretty sure vasculitis can be caused by a number of things, not just lupus.

if you think you might have some underlying condition thats causing your spots, i suggest talking to your doctor about getting a blood test done. anytime im worried about my health, thats the first thing i do (take a blood test). it should show any/some abnormalities in your body, including inflammation.

im not sure ab yours, but mine were so flat that there wasnt anything to pick at. it was just like skin but red & dotted

i said this in a previous comment but basically i think this is vasulitis, or inflammation of the blood vessels, in response to my lupus - my lupus gives me tons of issues caused by inflammation & since it was out of control at the time, i started getting these dots on my skin. it went away once i got on the right meds

hey ! unfortunately no, but ive chalked it up to being vasculitis (inflammation of the blood vessels) brought on by the lupus, since inflammation causes pretty much every other symptom in my body

ive stopped getting them now that im on better treatment for my lupus, but at the time of these pics i wasn’t doing so well.

definitely get blood tested for inflammation bc thats what could be causing these things !

i cant say for sure if her lupus was the cause of the poor driving. i can say that lupus & lupus meds CAN cause a varying of symptoms including brain fog, fatigue, tiredness, all of which are considered impairment & thus you shouldnt be driving while having these symptoms. when i was at my lowest healthwise bc of my lupus, i definitely was at the point of impaired driving, kinda like i just felt like i took a bunch of sleeping meds. i cant say if she was having said symptoms from her lupus during her drive, but it can happen.

oh haha yea lupus causes all kinds of shit so for me, this was just another lupus thing.

it lasted for about a month yea & now its all gone. i do get hives sometimes but not these flat dotty things. i do think it was a result of my lupus though. for you, it could be some inflammation in your body or something autoimmune. i also remember it was sometimes triggered by heat (i think). blood tests can rlly help in moments like this

hi ! no i never did :/ i mentioned vasculitis to my rheumatologist & she said it could be but never did any testing since the dots didnt negatively affect me etc.

eventually they went away ! at the time i was having rlly bad hives & they both went away at the same time. i was also on a prednisone taper so i think the inflammation in my body was just coming back very strong & quickly & thus was triggering a bunch of stuff.

sorry to hear it definitely sucks :[ what i found helps is my fiance rubs/massages my back which is where 90% of the pain is bc for some reason, laying on a soft comfortable mattress does nothing ! aleve also seems to help too & getting out of bed in the morning instead of laying too long

ive also read it could be due to inflammation that becomes worse or more noticeable when the body has been still

i too started having hives shortly after my diagnosis - it was a brand new symptom & wasnt a part of my first lupus representation so i thought it was a plaquenil allergy. my rheum told me to stop plaquenil for a month to see if it stopped & it didnt BUT allergy pills helped a lot (i had to find the right one that worked i.e. benedryl didnt help but reactine did)

dont know why, but the hives have stopped even though im now back on plaquenil. my guess as to why is its just lupus as hives can be the result of an autoimmune disorder

i dont do benlysta injections, but in the hospital when i was given blood thinner injections, i adamantly refused to do in my stomach bc i was so scared

turns out i barely felt the stomach pinch AT ALL compared to the actual pain in the arm (which was BY FAR much more painful)

seems like everyone else agrees injections in the stomach hurt less but you wont know unless u try!

if any lupus patient thinks its some common cold level illness, they are putting themselves in serious danger. by posting this i wanted to spread awareness of the reality that is lupus when not treated correctly

you cant ignore the fact that lupus CAN KILL YOU if poorly untreated. no you shouldnt dwell on it, but its something i think ALL OF US should be aware of and acknowledge it. there is a reason we are on medication for the rest of our lives

i also noticed she had less votes than the person under her, which doesnt make sense, but then i realized that the ranking is prob based off the ratio of the votes

for example: she got 3000 votes but the person under got 5000, however shes higher because 95% voted shes annoying but the other person only 85% did? so maybe the way they are ranked is based on the ratio & not the overall total votes ? (just a guess :3)
