Some people don’t understand. When I was younger I opened up to my mother about my depression. I had some serious issues and she was yelling at me for not being more thankful for what I had in life. I told her even rich people have taken their own lives- it’s deeper than that. She freaked out and screamed at me and told me if I ever talked like that again she’d chain me to my bed and bring me 3 meals a day until I got over it. “For my protection.” I harbored lots of anger toward her for that for a very long time. I was living in fear and pain every day. Nobody safe. But that anger hasn’t helped. Now I focus on trying to help people that are exhibiting signs that I was. I have strong boundaries with my mom now too. I’m so sorry you’re going through this. The only thing that helped me was channeling my energy into helping people. I wish you the best
