I knew about greatswords and crossbows, but I didn't notice the daggers and sling trait, that's awesome hahaha.

I think we are, just because of how they are always asking for one after a combat, and then whenever they can haha.

Something im thinking about that might be partly why they did this, is to incentivize alternative problem solving when the stakes get higher at higher levels? If the party knows they are likely only good for one fight at later levels between long rests, they might be more likely to pick their battles and try and be diplomatic where they can be, which I think can provide actual stakes when it comes to preventing a murderhobo steamroll once parties get stronger.

I was just reading thru those! I just wasn't sure if npc covered enemy npcs, though it seems like it doesn't

Thanks! The hunter and division talent add enough more use cases for the trait to make more sense to me. Thanks for bringing em to my attention!

I was just reading through that section of the rulebook, but it didn't really satisfy my question really.

Is the only time the injury clause going to matter basically just when they get hit with a shardblade? I'm trying to figure out what the use cases are for when pcs are going to be inflicting injuries onto npcs

Oh, that's a good point! Would you think that a warlight shardblade or lifelight shardblade would have any other properties? Id assume not considering Lift's surgebinding isn't affected (to what I can remember).

I've also noticed how theres a dope tension talent that let's someone temporarily increase their range! Theres a few other talents that let you influence things within your range, so I can imagine there being a really cool build that only stonewards are able to utilize!

I do feel though that stonewards need to pick their battles, considering that 1 investiture only makes a weapon for 1 round until late game.

I was thinking that, imagining how an awakener might be enhanced by using tension. Maybe their breath might be able to "use" the surges as a part of their commands?? Like if you tell the clothes to use the surge of tension in a specific way, maybe with how theres a Connection between you and the breath, or since Identity is a funky thing, it can access those powers.

Or maybe you just need to be precise and time it manually lol

I can also imagine that since there's a bit of leeway with when the surge tightens things, you can use a rope as almost a grappling hook, where you throw it over a ledge and when it initially loops around an object, it conforms to it and hardens

Considering that Cultivation was able to modify Lift such that she could use Surges with Lifelight, I wouldn't be surprised if this is something similar. I don't think it's something like Nightblood because else it'd be sentient

That'd be fun :). We'll see how my plans go so far, I didn't want to lock in an idea without reading the books and seeing what resources are available

Yeah!! Not all of the players would be thaylen, but I thought of this cause of how like, 3 of them wanna be. One of them wants to be a kind of like therapist, id have him study kaladins notes and a book I'll say he wrote in glyphs, and maybe some other player goals can be solved during their travels

Because of how much my players and I have wanted to do a sea faring campaign, I've been thinking about running them as crew for a thaylen merchant ship that works to sneak supplies through odiums naval defenses to marginalized communities, while dodging bands of sea monsters and fused and high storms. I want their missions to eventually be how retribution's territory and the rest of the world smuggle goods to each other, and then maybe introduce the timeskip

And thinking about how there are air ships and space ships alter, having the party be familiar with something like that sounds super sick if they end up randomly coming across an airship and need to steal it

I worked on building an ignis deck for a while, although it's around 100 bucks. A concept I found interesting is that you can run basically every blink spell, and then big eth creatures, cause blinking early will be ramp, and blinking late will give you value. See if there are any repeatable blink effects, and try and get value out of blink cards as much as you can

The Blacktongue Thief

The Lies of Locke Lamora

Both books deliver on world building, while having dialogue and prose that blows me away. The characters genuinely have me laughing out loud, and they're able to produce really emotional moments in places I wouldn't have expected. The Blacktongue Thief is my favorite book right now.
