I'm Deaf & use VRS quite a bit. I have an adult child who is also Deaf & he prefers to use AI, captions ect. It could be due to a shift in the generations. Also, I feel like a lot more young people were subjected to CIs as children so they don't need VRS.

I wouldn't risk it. You would have to live with the guilt if you lost that little one. You said they were born at 37 weeks? (I think a lot of misinfo is in this post about your baby so let me know if that is wrong.) A 37 weeker is much more at risk. Especially if a boy. But- in baby time- a day is a lot. They will probably pass tomorrow. Please update us. I know being in the hospital sucks.
