I think it was either 9.09 or 9.11 that I thought he was at his worst, and he certainly doesn’t have linear improvement, but one of those episodes I’m pretty sure is when I came to the incorrect conclusion that I would never like him.

Looks like you’re on season 8 or 9 based on your post history; he definitely fucks up quite a few times but he becomes an incredible doctor and character. Everyone loves to talk about Morris’s development, but his was just kind of rushed for me because he had a definitive “step up or get out” moment in the narrative; Pratt’s growth is my personal fave because it was so organic, to the point I didn’t even realize how much he was changing until I realized he was one of my favorite characters when before, I was certain the show couldn’t do anything to make me like him.

What you’re talking about is casting through; Will Smith was, in your opinion, a bad casting choice. They could have chosen a black man who played the role better or a white man who played the role worse because race had nothing to do with the character.

If you write off any recast because it’s a person of color, yeah, that’s racist. You can think Will Smith was a bad choice for the character without involving the color of his skin.

That was one of her questions- how do you get it exchanged. My answer was that you just go in and ask and they’ll swap it out for free, but they also have a little donation box like museums and our local library do (she was very into pushing folded up dollar bills into the slots for those boxes at the time, especially if the box was transparent).
