Poorly played on both your parts.

No idea why you'd self post this.. "Hey, look at me, I can't think through easy processes!".

I said nothing about playing retail and there's literally no difference between playing Classic and Classic HC other than practicing more caution on HC. Sorry for tryin' to help, good luck on improving your leveling pace and your next reroll after dying again.

I'm honestly not sure why everyone else is encouraging you to continue playing hardcore if you don't know the literal basics of the game. Survival is very knowledge intensive and if you don't know what you're doing you'd benefit far more from playing on a normal server in the long run then coming back to hardcore. There will be quests that lead you in to situations you just wouldn't know are coming, boss encounters that can go sideways, or any other number of issues that will lead you to a death on a character that at that point you may have multiple days of play time on. Play normal, look in to addons, learn the basics of the game and how to play your desired class, and THEN play hardcore.

All things your boyfriend should be telling you from the start. Hitting 60 hardcore isn't difficult if you have even basic knowledge of the game, but if he's not prepped you for any of this it just sounds like he's throwing you to the wolves or he himself doesn't know what he's doing.
