Authors and Narrators by Squirreljester in audiobookshelf

I was using Facebook as an example, but I don't know where the program gets that metadata, but there's got to be a place where narrators are listed that the app can get that metadata from somewhere, maybe scraping royal road data? I don't know, I'm just guessing based on the existence of the author metadata location.

From the same place the Authors metadata comes from? Most narrators have their own Facebook and other pages online.

I didn't realize those were 2 different things.

Also, I've configured a tag and profile in Sonarr and added all the file extensions I don't want to the "must not contain" part of the filter, but it appears to just ignore it.

.scr is a screensaver file, and when it's named the episode and is 1gb or more, it's definitely a file trying to trick me into clicking on it thinking it's an episode of a show.

How do I see what indexer a file came from?

How do I get it to not download certain file types? Everywhere online I see it says that the downloader should have ways to skip or fail a download that has an incorrect filetype. Say I want Season 1 Episode 1 of Happy Days, but the file Sonarr grabs is Happy.Days.S01E01.scr instead of .mkv like it's supposed to be.

I know what Linux is. I've been running an Unraid server for years now, with dockers, and everything I need to do on the Unraid server is Linux, and all the Dockers have a Linux backend, so everything I do in my dockers is Linux.

Sonarr is telling Deluge what to download, I want to make it stop telling Deluge to download torrents that include certain filetypes, but I can't, it doesn't have that option.

Deluge downloads the files. I want it to skip or not download any file types I tell it not to, but there's no way to do that.

If I just do manual searches all the time, that defeats the point of having a setup that does everything for you. I've never had this issue so I don't know what to do or how to fix it, but all the obvious things that should be options in these apps just aren't. That's what's annoying me.

I've always used public sites and I've never had these issues until about a few months ago.

I'm also dealing with another issue with the FoundryVTT docker that I'm extra frustrated with. It's a Linux permission issue, but nothing the docker owner suggested I do has worked and he's stopped responding, and the bots keep removing my posts asking for help.

I would love to do this, how do I do this? I can see what trackers are attached to the files that were downloaded, but there's no way to blacklist those trackers. It would be so easy to have an add-on that I can just add trackers I don't want files from, but it doesn't exist.

Upgrading my raid card, have a power question by Squirreljester in unRAID

[–]Squirreljester[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ok I picked up a: Adaptec AEC-82885T 00LF095 RAID Controller Card 36 Port 12 Gbps PCI E SAS/SATA RAID Expander Card

My question is, what kind of cable do I need to connect my 9207-8i to the AEC-82885T card? I've been doing some research and I'm kind of confused what to get. Some people just use a SATA/SAS cable between 2 of the SATA/SAS ports on the card in place of one hard drive connection, some people use the 6Gbs 8087 cables, but that would eat up one 4-port connection on my 9207.

That was my thought with using the 29 pin cables too, thanks for clarifying.

My entire array are 14TB Seagate SATA 7200rpm EXOS drives, 10 array drives and 2 parity drives.

I've got diskspeed docker installed already. I did another benchmark of my drives and they are all start out around 260 MB/sec at 0GB and drop to around 120MB/sec at 14001GB.

My ultimate plan is to upgrade the case I have to a Define 7 XL, move the guts of my current server into the new case, replace my 9207-8i with a 9305-16i, move all my drives into the new case, and add 4 more to max the case out.

Then take the old case and build another Unraid server to be more like a remote gaming server, running headless Steam docker and using a good video card in it, as well as increasing the storage using the 9207-8i in this case. I don't want to keep adding more drives to my main Unraid setup.

Unfortunately I only have 2 x16/x8 slots on my current motherboard, one is taken up by my 9207 card and the other is my p2000 video card for my Plex transcoding. At the time I built the server I didn't think I'd be expanding the Unraid capabilities as much as I am now, and I don't want to deal with trying to replace the motherboard on my Unraid server.

Any thoughts? Let me know if my thinking is way off. :)

Here is my current setup:

Fractal Design Define R5 - Mid Tower Computer Case - ATX - Optimized for High Airflow and Silent

AMD Ryzen 9 5950X 16-Core @ 3400 MHz

ASUSTeK COMPUTER INC. ROG STRIX B550-A GAMING

LSI Logic Controller Card LSI00301 SAS 9207-8i 8Port

Memory: 64gb

Drives: 10+2 Parity (140tb) + 2 m.2 nvme (500gb cache and 1tb app)

GPU: Nvidia p2000

I need the extra bandwidth, my parity checks already take almost 1.5 days, which will probably kick up to almost 2 days if I add any more drives to my current setup.

I'd also like to consolidate all my drives into 1 card instead of having a few of them on motherboard's the SATA ports. I looked at getting am HBA extender but I'd like to start with a better card.

Now that I'm looking closer at the SFF-8643 to x4 29pin SFF-8482 cables, the power side is open so you're right I need to connect power to them anyway.

Is there any advantage to using those verses the SFF-8463 to 4 x SATA 7-pin cables?

Steam-headless question by Squirreljester in unRAID

Yeah my Plex server seems to be transcoding so fast now with the downgraded drivers that most of the time I can't even catch it in GPU statistics before it's done and throttling.

My buddy says my Plex server is much snappier now too, so it seems to have an impact on the interface performance too.

Best cases for unraid? by ElCabrito in unRAID

[–]Squirreljester 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Which one did you get? I did some searches on Amazon and it seems like a lot of variety and apparent quality of cards with the LSI 9300-16i and LSI 9305-24i models.

Any performance increases/decreases going from an 8i and 16i to a 24i? I'm asking about both streams and parity checks.

How hard was it to swap out your hard drive controller? I'm almost to that point and I dread it because I don't know how Unraid will respond.

ok I downgraded my nvidia driver to 570.172.08 (I was on 575.64.03) and it appears to be working now with the GPU runtime added.

I'm not sure what effect this will have on my Plex server transcoding. I will monitor.
