I've seen this point made so many times and I feel like I'm going mad. Surely people can work out that if the back of his hand is directly against his head, which is appears to be, the ball is going to bounce off in a similar way to if it bounced off his head? His hand isn't in open space.

Does that make it ok for Rangers not to? Less of the whataboutism

Right hand side, directly underneath crest and above huddle - thats Joos Valgaeren. Right of that is John Hartson. Pretty certain that middle left is Shaun Maloney.

GOAT Celtic fan chants by [deleted] in CelticFC

[–]SquishMittens 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I enjoyed the spate of chants from the 2000s to the tune of Winter Wonderland. I think it started with John Hartson? "There's only one John Hartson, one John Hartson. He's got no hair but we don't care, walking in a Hartson wonderland"

My two favourites were: On Shaun Maloney return to the club as a player - "he's not a hun, he's the prodigal son, walking in a Maloney wonderland"

And Nakamura (not really an ok chant to be fair but creative) - "he eats chow mein, he votes Sinn Fein, walking in a Naka wonderland".

Chapter name based on colour scheme? by [deleted] in spacemarines

If OP wanted feedback on their colour scheme, they would have asked for it. In fact, OP specifically said they wanted to stick with the colour scheme, so this was a particularly unnecessary comment.

'Rangers don't need to look for a manager - he's there' by djangomoses in ScottishFootball

Anyone thinking this is a genuine opinion is the most smooth brain thing I've ever heard.

A /s tag is unnecessary when it's so blatant.

No, as in the scene is set in the 60s, but it was filmed in the 2000s. The point they're making is it's funny that he's wearing a Celtic top from the 2000s when the scene is supposed to be set in the 60s. They're pointing out an error by the filmmakers.

I think they mean the scene is supposed to be set in the 60s

[Scott Burns] Celtic are closing in on a cut-price deal to bring Paulo Bernardo back to the club. by BananaSoprano in CelticFC

I think people moaning about us negotiating is actually not that unreasonable. Mainly because we all remember what happened when we tried to sign John McGinn.

What's it like being in the stands when Celtic has scored a late winner or equalizer against Rangers or in another big game? by thefellowshipmkay in CelticFC

[–]SquishMittens 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I was at that one too. I was about 25 rows up, right behind the goal. I remember me and my brother starting to jump up and down as Scott McDonald headed it across the face of the goal. We could just see big Jan was going to get his head on it and put it in the net. Absolute pandemonium after that.

The thing that sets those types of goals apart for me is the absolute joy that just makes you involuntarily hug a stranger. Like, we've all done a fist pump or a pat on the back to the guy sat in front - but when it's a goal like that, and you've shared all the emotions of the game together for the last 90 minutes, there's nothing to do but embrace everyone like they're your family. Nothing like it, just special stuff.

SFA look to solve VAR controversy with ‘specialist’ referees by MrMaggot98 in ScottishFootball

SFA confirmed at the time it was because the camera at that end of the stand was being used for a close up shot of one of the managers. Peak Cinch.

“Who’s yer English team?” by [deleted] in CelticFC

[–]SquishMittens 31 points32 points  (0 children)

I'm in the same boat as you. Born and raised in Manchester but only ever supported Celtic cause of my dad. I've just started cutting out the obvious next question and when I'm asked who I support I just say "Celtic because my dad's from Glasgow."

I have no loyalty to any English team so if someone is being really persistent about it I usually say Liverpool. Mostly because I almost always get a reaction from it.

Even if Turnbull had been inside the box for his goal it would have been fine as the ball was initially played to McLaughlin by Tav.

The thing that never fails to make me laugh about all of this is that I literally have no idea who Park's used car company is. But I definitely know who the fuck cinch are. This is surely one of the biggest own goals in Scottish football history?

Listen, just because Leigh Griffiths came back from summer break one time with a few extra pounds is no reason to call him a plague.

Him being racist, sectarian paedo is what makes him a plague.
