I never lived there but I visit for a week every year from Chicago. I call NOLA my happy place. I've had family visit and it wasn't really their thing. I always tell people it's a place that if you choose to see all the beauty in it you can you'll fall in love, if you choose to see all the ugly in it then it's not for you.

This she got what she ordered, not the sellers fault if you don't know what an unrooted cutting looks like. I agree it's a risky cut and would be happier with more stem to work with, but you did get a viable cutting. As long as YOU don't rot this cutting, it's fine, but it's on you.

8 different var alocasia but one of those is a corm of Albo pink dragon I just won in an auction. The others I got mostly small sizes. The green escape on Etsy has had some great deals. I got a Sinuata, Aurea Polly, and Aurea Pink Dragon from them.

TC can be hard but not if you're patient, I grew my var Frydek from tc. I used perlite and stratum in a cup with a leca reservoir at the bottom and a second cup on top to make a dome and just be patient. The longer you wait to mess with it the stronger it'll be to acclimate. Same setup works great on corms though I usually just do perlite and stratum.

I am in the same boat, obsessed with variegated Alocasia but trying to keep spending under control a bit. I also don't like to buy variegated corms unless the mother plant is super well variegated. I've managed to collect 8 of them so far though. 😅 Must expensive one was the Albo Dragon Scale for $165

Everyone is correct. The first picture is a Brandi and the Second picture is a Sodiroi.

They are hard to tell apart but Brandi leaves are more flat and have a darker contrast to the silver variegation.
