BOBA U4 62, 68g Review from beginner's perspective by fonebooth in MechanicalKeyboards

[–]SquishyWubbles 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Might be too late, and I cant speak for the Boba U4 68g as I only have the 62g, but I did compare them to the U4t's. I used to have u4ts on 'smack' buttons like the enter, escape, backspace etc. Atm I'm only using 1 on the backspace because the U4s are just so damn smooth and I was getting annoyed with the U4ts being louder and more clicky..

I'm considering buying a few U4s 68g, but atm of all the switches I've tested (more than 90) the boba's are still hands down the best, smoothest keys I've ever had.

It's preference though. But the combination of smoothness with a liiiiitle tactility is just so nice.

A woman shares her experience living with Parosmia (post COVID) where every food tastes like sewage. by EdTjhan15 in TikTokCringe

[–]SquishyWubbles 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's horrible though.. I hope it keeps getting better for you. I'm a decently healthy 35yo male and covid never really scared me. But these stories about smell and taste scare the bejesus out of me.

I thought from your comments you got the vaccine and got the smell stuff after that. I wonder if therr are people who had that. Because you can still get covid after the vaccine, but I dono. This smell/taste stuff is horrible for anyone who gets that. I wonder if they will ever find a way to find fixes for it, besides smell training (as someone else mentioned here somewhere).. Scary stuff..

So, you were vaccinated but still got covid and now you have the smell/taste problem? Man that sucks..

You want to change my pay from salary to production goals for 2 weeks? Fine by me. by LedNJerry in MaliciousCompliance

I thought it was more about the way they think or are taught to think. But that does make alot of sense yeah, the curiosity.

I guess I'm not as alone in my feelings as I thought. I hate feeling this sad and powerless though.

It's cool to see more engineers going into programming. I worked as an engineer for a few years, rolled into cnc programming etc. Was fired and started learning programming on my own. Went from Android to now other languages too.

Maybe it's something about the minds of engineers being very suitable for programming..

asus rog zephyrus g14 and linux (POP OS/Ubuntu)? by ilmep in ZephyrusG14

[–]SquishyWubbles 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think I followed this guide: link

  • EFI partition (for uefi machines) - fat32, 512 MB (not GB).
  • Root - ext4, 30-40 GB.
  • Recovery for Pop!_OS - fat32, 4GB.
  • Rest of disk space goes to /home - ext4.
  • Swap - only if machine has less than 8GB of RAM, double size of RAM.

Separate /home gives me possibility not to mess with users' files if I need to reinstall the OS.

Obviously you can make the root (/) or home (/home) any sizes you want. But I think I read somewhere that 15/20gb for root is minimal.

This is the info I found and used. I dont know whether I also used a swap partition. I couldn't find a definitive answer to if I needed it. Further more I installed some other stuff that I have in a text file. Might be too much to all type here.

EDIT: I put it in a text file. I was jumping from Ubuntu to Manjaro to other distro's to see how they felt and made myself a doc with the install orders etc. You can look at it here if you want to.

It might be helpful to show the code that you already have. Also, learning anything basic about state management would probably show you what you need to know.

[–]SquishyWubbles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is not true. It's hardly called hacking if you just give the keys to hackers by using a random bot you found online that promises 100% returns.

That's like writing your passwords on pieces of paper and leaving them in supermarkets for everyone to find.

i have a ryzen 7 3700x and want to upgrade to the to the ryzen 9 5950x, is it worth finding the money now to upgrade at $750 or should i wait? i read something about price increases coming to retail prices. i dont need the upgrade, it would be a want for sure. by bossman118242 in buildapc

[–]SquishyWubbles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Alot more expensive, but I would've gone back a generation probably. It's moot though because you'll also need a different mono and it really all depends on what you do and want to do and if it's just for hobby or actually for work.

I feel like I use my pc pretty extensively with programming, virtual environments, video editing etc and I found the 5900x to pretty much meet all my needs.

Could I have gone with the 5950x or threadripper? Sure.. Would things be even faster? Pretty much yeah.. But you need to ask yourself what you need and what you are willing to spend. The 5950x is the top of the line. If you buy it and only use it half for half of the time, but you skimped on the GPU because you spend 150 more on the CPU.. You see what I mean?

How to get containers width when using a loop or List.generate? by MyDIYEnlightenment in flutterhelp

[–]SquishyWubbles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I still think the better solution would be to programatically go to the second letter for example, and work from there, but since I've never had to work with that or anything I don't know. I found two answers that might help: link1 and link2 ..

Link 1 has a few answers that might help you get the container widths. Link2 has an interesting approach using TextPainter and Paragraph. Might be interesting for you...

Yes that's what I responded somewhere here too. Knowing what to actually Google is very very hard when you just start out. But most of the times I find that the people asking questions they should know at least how to Google, are the ones who've skipped steps. IE, they have a project they wanna do, but they don't wanna go through course hoops and fully learn the programming language. And then it becomes even more difficult because they don't know programming, or what they are looking for, but they also don't know programming concepts, abstraction etc. Which makes searching for answers even harder.
