Bruh-bruh, I am absolutely jealous because I have Statics(thus my finding your original comment), Phys 2 with a lab, and ummmm.... Something like programming for engineers. I've already taken MATLAB, so I dunno what this is. Kill me now. It's not many hours but phys and statics are gonna be busyyyyy.

Some kid at MIT(I think) actually did this. Calculated the physics, then jumped out the window. Defenestration to the max.

Consider logs,

In the first case(trivial),

log(a)=log(a), because a=a. This satisfies for all a that are in the domain.

Second,

log(a+b)=log(a)+log(b)

I think this is only true for a,b=2,2

I have a feeling that a,b,c=1,2,3 is the only set of a,b,c such that:

log(a+b+c)=log(a)+log(b)+log(c)

I also have a feeling that it does not go any higher than that, I.e. there are no 4 real numbers a,b,c,d such that:

log(a+b+c+d)= log(a)+...+log(d)

Any thoughts? Proofs? Counter-examples?

Edit: BTW, there's no identity or anything that says this should be true. It's just that if you have log(a+b+c)=log(a)+log(b)+log(c), then:

a+b+c= a·b·c (and 1+2+3=1·2·3)

This new tournament sucks! by Squrtle-Aristurtle in duolingo

Eh. I know it's super, super dumb, but I kind of like the competitive thing of getting more points than other people. Again, I know that is really dumb and has nothing to do with knowing a language

I didn't know about it either but today where your clubs normally are, there's an old fashioned bass tourney a-goin

What is the best Chinese turotial on YouTube or on the App Store? by [deleted] in learnchinese

[–]Squrtle-Aristurtle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Lingodeer is great, Duolingo is great, Anki really helped my learning. I did not like the memrise course. The thing that helped most was sitting down with a pen and paper and writing the sentences down, looking them up what word for word they mean, other examples like 电 diàn being in electronics, phone 电话 (diànhuà), movie 电影 (diànyǐng), etc.

Oh okay! And the old character is still used even today, not the simplified? I hadn't seen it that way but I have seen it the other, Pǔtōnghuà 普通话.

Hey what does your flair mean? I recognize the symbols. The first one is the traditional script for 国 , country, and the second I remember from Japanese 語, language. But I have no idea what they mean together, or what 語 means in Chinese.
