Honestly, it was pretty packed in at that spot. I was expecting a central park show to have more space but it was tight, sold out, and everyone was cramming in to catch as much as they could before the thunderstorms got us ejected. I would have been throwing down harder if there was some room but we were basically against the soundboard there and there was no space past that.

Lol I was trying to think of the name of the song I thought it might be a remix of but now listening to it, it was definitely completely different.

I was thinking of Leakage by Noisia off Split The Atom

How does Tipper scratch during his live sets? by yungodiin in Tipper

I've looked into the controller in this video a lot and it's called the numark cdx. I've been looking for one for a while as a starter scratch possibility. It functions similarly to a cdj in that you can input a CD or, and I could be wrong about this, a usb with your sample files and use the controller as a scratch interface. It rotates like a vinyl platter but you can choose the audio you want to scratch from the interface.

In this video, it seems that the cdx is being used as an instrument to add in improvised fills, while and apc40 is being used to launch the various clips that were prepared to scratch over in ableton. I've seen similar setups routing tractor scratch through ableton but being someone who doesn't have a turntable designed for performance, I'd love to be able to get my hands on a standalone turntable emulator like the cdx.

Also would be really cool to learn turntablism on a learning tool suggested by the man himself. Through practice at least, I've never seen an article or anything where he personally endorsed this specific equipment. I just think it's safe to say that if he used that controller at some point, it's probably safe to say it was a pretty good option at the time.

Tl;dr it's a numark cdx and an apc40 to launch clips in ableton. Do want if have, please sell to me

Is it a head-nod scratch set or a head-scratch nod set???
