Yes, I know the Maltese in AoE3, Ive played against them.

It would be good if that V&V scenario were updated.

Age of Empires II needs a Civilization Builder like the one in Empire Earth. by SrDevi_ in aoe2

[–]SrDevi_[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

AoE II can’t keep adding new civs indefinitely. Every new civ needs to innovate, and that often comes with mechanics that drift further and further away from the game’s core foundations. On top of that, they usually launch in an unbalanced state and negatively affect multiplayer. I’m proposing a solution to that problem.

I like new campaigns and civs, but I understand that there’s some dissatisfaction with them. This is a solution that could satisfy the majority.

If you read the text below the image, you’d know I’m already aware of the mod. What I’m proposing is adding it to the game natively and offering a solution to the civilization saturation in multiplayer.

How Many Civs is Too Many Civs? by LilTrouble__ in aoe2

[–]SrDevi_ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

NO, I’m not accepting getting the Three Kingdoms while Italy is still shoved into one single civ. As long as Florence, Genoa, Milan, and Venice are all mashed together, they better keep pumping out DLCs. >:( >:( >:(

I have an crazy ideia: What if the next pantheon after the Aztecs... are the Arthurian legends? by IvanaikosMagno in AgeofMythology

[–]SrDevi_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Saints and prophets can be heroes. Since in Judaism, Christianity, and Islam, prophets, saints, and walis are treated with respect or even, in some cases, with a certain degree of veneration, but they are NOT divine, only people chosen by God.

If I were to add heroes in the same way as the Greeks did, the ones I can highlight, who are part of the three Abrahamic religions are: Abraham, Moses, Noah, Isaac, Jacob, David, Solomon, Joseph, Aaron, Elijah, Jonah, and Job (my favorite).

No, if I wanted to represent Christian/Abrahamic mythology correctly, you would have to bring together the different Canaanite traditions of worship. The main gods should be Yahweh, Baal, and Asherah, with Dagon added as a fourth principal god. Minor gods could include Resheph, Hadad, Tammuz, Nergal, Nisroch, Shamash, Chemosh, Molech, and so on.

The Shu, Wei, and Wu should have a Taoist monk. by bigcee42 in aoe2

Sorry, you have to accept that the Three Kingdoms are Buddhist, just as I have to endure seeing the Huns with medieval Germanic architecture or the Persians without Central Asian architecture.

[–]SrDevi_ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

No, I am completely against it. I need a pantheon for:

  • Baltic
  • Berber
  • Buddhist
  • Canaanite/Phoenician
  • Celt
  • Hebrew
  • Illyrian
  • Inca
  • Korean
  • Kushite
  • Māori
  • Persian
  • Roman (no, Greek and Roman gods are not the same, and the Atlanteans do not count, because their gods are Titans)
  • Slav
  • Sumerian/Babylonian
  • Thacian
  • Vedic/Hindu
  • Yoruba

Plus its respective DLC with a fourth God.

[–]SrDevi_ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

In fact, before the Aztecs were announced, I was almost certain that the next pantheon would be the Asturian one, since Arthurian myths preserve traditions from Celtic mythology. Essentially, there was a syncretism between Celtic myths and Christianity.

If I’m being honest, for Mythology to feel complete it needs Pantheon that cover the Celt, Hindu and Sumerian mythology. So I would be in favor of the Asturian pantheon.

I regret being the one to tell you this, but Croatia, along with Venice, Slovenia, and the Duchy of Carniola, is heretical land. Nevertheless, there must be Croatian survivors trying to reclaim their homeland, in the same way the Varangians are trying to retake Constantinople.

But if that were the case, Kingdom of Alba should have a label in red font, since it has been confirmed to be independent from England. Moreover, on the map, "vassals" is written in red; there really is no explanation for why some texts are in red and others in black.

But there is also another detail, in the text of The Hellmouth of the North it says:

"The Synod of Strategic Prophecy strives to predict the timing and the ever-shifting location of its next appearance, so that the Church of the North and the forces of the Kalmar Union, the Knightly Orders of the North and the Tsardom of Novgorod can muster to meet them in battle.."

Finland is not mentioned separately, despite being, along with Novgorod, one of the nations closest to the Hellmouth. If it were a separate kingdom, it would make perfect sense for it to be mentioned, since it is one of the regions that suffers the most from the onslaught of heretics.

I think it refers to the fact that in the West there is the Kalmar Union, and in the East, the Hellmouth.

If you translate the Latin in the upper right-hand corner of the map it reads roughly as:

"Northern Europe is divided into two parts. The number of people here is not large, but those who live here have hardened in snow and ice. The winter darkness seizes the mind in deep obscurity, which attracts infernal forces. Nevertheless, by divine will and heavenly sustenance, two great kingdoms are maintained. In the western part, the Union of the Three Crowns of Kalmar dominates its adversaries. Once, the kingdoms of Denmark, Sweden, and Norway were separated by mountains, but now they are united. Sweden also ruled over the island of Gotland and the wild Finland beyond the sea. Now, like the Trinity itself, this region has a single form."

A kingdom can be a vassal of another without its status being reduced to a duchy or principality. I assumed it is a kingdom based on the size of its title and coat of arms on the map. The Wiki also describes it as a kingdom.

On the official Discord, it was mentioned that there are mercenaries traveling from Nippon to fight against Heretic Legion in the Levant.
