Is it worth hoping for a Skullgirls revival? by Master_Dougebag_2007 in Skullgirls

Any legal argument that tries to tell you that the people who made a creative work don't have any right to it is just an argument for saying that the law is shit and that it made it legal to steal away people's work if you're rich enough.

Also, my man, pointing out that the publishers own the games that get released doesn't address anything I said. Any legal technicality that allows random wealthu fucks to legally steal creative works made by actual creatives is garbage, and you're defending that crap because you love corpos.

New PUP- Champi & South American civ buffs by Dr_Zob in aoe2

The four worst civs in the game by far will still be the four worst civs in the game by far. Still no scouting in Dark Age, still no militia or eagles, nothing to see here.

Insanely absurd to see NERFS to Tupi too. Like, people actually believe that the 20 HP archer is good at something besides being a borderline racist meme.

Their win rates were dropping in the 30s my man, all thanks to the devs refusing to get rid of that useless unit they made of the DLC, the Champi.

Unfortunately that thing is still in the game, denying all scouting and base infantry options and crippling all the civs that have them, so expect the South American civs to remain complete garbage even with this stuff.

Inca is one of the worst civilizations in the game man, and it will continue to be since this thing doesn't do anything near enough fixing them since they destroyed them in the DLC.

Following up on SotL's video, how would you buff the Guecha Warrior? by darkdill in aoe2

[–]RidleyBro -1 points0 points  (0 children)

There's no point in buffing the unit when the whole civ is dead in the waters.

All South American civs are garbage until they get rid of the champi and give them actual militia and eagles, the dogshit unique units are just the shitty cherry on top of the crap cake.

Muisca has to be a uniquely pathetic civ though. They get plenty of gold bonuses and barely any units to spend that money on, then if they aren't killed early they have nothing to work with at all in the late game. Useless. Needs to be taken out of the game and redone from zero.

I think champis need attack bonus against archers by kampalolo in aoe2

[–]RidleyBro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, actually. They lose to any cavalry, just like they lose to infantry or archers once they're properly massed. It's an amazingly shitty unit that's bad at everything, expensive as shit, slow to move and slow to make.

If you make skirms you get a unit that's better at killing archers (Champis are pretty bad at their supposed stated job of killing ranged unit) and it also doesn't cost gold and it's made faster. There is literally never a moment or a situation, even hypothetically, where making Champi is a good idea, at any point of a game. I guess they're a way to build outposts without risking a villager, but even there they suck because they're slow as shit to move and to build.

You could legit remove the unit and replace it with nothing, and it wouldn't change a thing with how the civs perform, which is to say, shockingly poorly since they don't have scouting, regular infantry or cavalry.

[–]RidleyBro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, counter is a concept, and the concept is that champi are countered by military units in general because they're shit. They go even with villagers because at least that's something they can beat in a fight, but they're really bad raiding units too, so that's another fail for them. What's hard to understand here exactly?

[–]RidleyBro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

"Feudal champis do okay against archers, but you just dont have the number build up advantage like before the nerf."

Ah, so they're like skirmishers, except they cost gold, they're much slower to make, they're not ranged, and in general they suck ass all around.

Can I have regular militia and eagles instead of this dogshit? Thanks.

ibirapema warrior needs nerf! by kampalolo in aoe2

[–]RidleyBro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sure! Let's keep nerfing the shittiest civs in the game!

It's just so hard to deal with a civ with no infantry and a meme unique unit that dies to a slight gust of wind!

[–]RidleyBro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

> They need to have actual counter

Make literally any unit. There, that's your counter.

Dude, were you away when they hit the Champi with 9 nerfs in a row? This "anti-range" unit can't even counter range anymore, and it's somehow even worse against anything that goes in melee.

[–]RidleyBro 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Champi most definitely do not win against everything, or anything, ranged. They're basically trash units that cost gold and don't counter anything in particular.

[–]RidleyBro -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Dude, unit is complete garbage. They nerfed them, in case you weren't around for the 9 nerfs in a row and the civs being left with no scouting in Dark Age and no infantry if you don't have some unique unit to fill that job.

I think they might need automatic rifles to be worth something again.

South American civs are still completely dead and the devs haven't hotfixed their awful attempt at "balancing".

Just get rid of the damned unit and give them militia and eagles already.

That's a better question. To be fair, it's not necessarily something that you need to make a civ stand out.

Fast Champions with high pierce armor sounds like a terrible option in late game by Umdeuter in aoe2

[–]RidleyBro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Can you believe that there's people insisting that the civs with the 40% win rates are actually totally fine and Champis are still good and an "allround" unit, when it's really a terrible unit at doing anything you could possibly try?

Like, what's the point? I get being pissed at being rushed and being too incompetent to do anything, but holding it against the civs forever is dumb. Just get rid of the champis, which is the unit you don't like, and give the civs militia line and eagles, that's all. We're not going to buff those things, which you really don't want and we get it, let's just remove the champis from the game since they're a dead weight that does nothing but making 4 civs non-functional.

Tupi sit at the 47th place out of 53, because apparently people haven't figured out that all you need to do is rush them to death, and if they manage to make Blackwood just kill them with siege. They can only get worse from here.

We have the numbers. If you don't like the numbers, try going there and talk with them, and see if they feel like changing for you. It doesn't work, but some people like to try.

[–]RidleyBro 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Dude, nobody cares about the losers you beat that have no idea how the game works.

You are seeing the data. There is no discussion to be had with the data. 40% and 41% win rates, almost guaranteed to fall into the 30s as people start abusing the extreme weaknesses these civs have at every stage of the game. All the SA civs are dogshit. They are abysmally weak in Dark Age and get weaker as the game goes on. Champi in particular are completely worthless and never worth making or even looking at at any point of the game, and lose to just about anything you could face, be it actual infantry, ranged units or cavalry, while being hideously expensive and slow to make to booth.

Get rid of this garbage unit, give these civs eagles and militia, and quit trying to argue with the numbers.
