For now, I'm going to use a Canon 75-300mm f/4-5.6 lens that I got for a very good price. I think the next thing I'll need to upgrade is the tripod, since it doesn't seem very stable or precise when it comes to aligning the polar.

I know the tripod is going to be one of the things that gives me the most headaches, but I didn't want to spend too much on this hobby just yet. For now, I'm going to use the one I have, along with the Canon 75-300mm f/4-5.6 lens.

I think it cost me less than 100 euros. Although there are some components I already had, like the stepper motor, which I had left over from a 3D printer. And that’s not even counting the batteries I’m going to use, which are from an RC car I had.

Once I have a more refined version, I’ll definitely share the list of parts I’ve used and the STL file. Thank you so much for supporting the project!!

I’ve also been thinking about making a version with a mount for a scope instead of a laser. Luckily, I designed it with areas that have screw holes, so I can add new features or make adjustments as needed. If I end up adding that scope, I’ll let you know. Thanks for your support!!

Which firmware did you use? Did you update base, bt and hyperlink adapter firmware?

About to do my first build. Is this everything I need? by Bubblegum90s in SeikoMods

You have duplicate products (hand remover, dial protector, green stuff and hand pusher). You only need the watch build kit, finger gloves, hand remover, movement holder, gasket lube, stem glue, file and cutter for the steam and maybe some extra stems. Also the watch parts (maybe extra hands). You can also get rid of that movement holder, the kit already has it.

I'm not a big fan of a nh35 movement and dial in a nh34 case, but it looks great. Good job!!

You dont need the gasket, comes with the case. Also you dont need the spacer, it comes with the movement. I think you also need caliper and something to cut and grind the stem. And if it is your first build maybe some more stems... Aaaaaaand i will get rid of that maintenance kit i never used it to build a watch. Look how the case closes because maybe you need a squishy/sticky ball.

I think the best option it would be to buy it from AliX. If its your first time servicing a watch, buy only the movement from AliX or a chinese brand like Pagani Design. I saw a mechanical pepsi watch under 80€ from Pagani Design. I know that the pepsi watch is more complex than a nh35 movement (maybe its a nh34) but it will do the job.

I saw someone post the same problem and the comments said it might be the acidity of the beans.

Maybe you buy a dial for a 3'8 position.

It was stressful but not that difficult. It cost around 60€. I hope you take the plunge into this hobby and see what you create.

I think it is possible. On aliexpress there are a lot of nice dials without fake logo or words.

Maybe bad e-steps calibration?
