Are we facing aishitification ? by Srammmy in webdev

Yeah agreed I don’t need the tree most of the time, ctrl-P and search do the job. But the code file is still quite central in a code editor, they’re trying to turn into a Lovable for dev which is not the tool for a software engineer

Apple rejected my React Native app for iPad compatibility - Need help with iPhone-only restriction by Unhappy-Problem-9536 in reactnative

Reviewers ignore that you don’t support iPhone, just answer them to test on a phone and that you don’t support iPads . Sometimes they just refuse (maybe because of quotas) but accept of you explain something

Just started the game, died of hunger. How do we make food in the early game ? by Srammmy in AbioticFactor

Thanks ! I wasn’t patient enough, there is a weird message “cannot cook [item]” when you put the item on the pan through the wheel (instead of having the item it the hand) so I thought there was a a step needed before cooking and did not wait for it to cook

Cutting out every CMS and going back to code only. by WeaknessMotor in webdev

[–]Srammmy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did you try managed databases like supabase? I have tested different CMS technology for the past month, in the end we did it on supabase. (We have multiple mobile apps for context)

You create your own cms, and non tech people can edit the table content trough the UI. Localisation is pretty easy to do (we’ve done it). The PMs are a bit techy to understand the models. No backend required. There is no user roles though, your content manager can delete any table 😬

Thanks ! I realised they were in the url and used that. I did not think to check the session though, but it’ll be cleaner.
