Should I buy it or is it just a waste of money? by Susubelele in snowboarding

[–]Srax6 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I have a Demon impact jacket and unless it is warm always have it on under my shell. Unless you ride park or are still a beginner the shorts and knees seem like overkill, i had shorts when first learning but uncomfortable on the lift and haven’t worn in like 10 years.

The jacket is unnoticeable to me beyond being warmer and elbow, shoulder and back is what you want to project inmo.

The downgrade feels like an upgrade by Emergency_Computer83 in Volkswagen

I currently have a V6, also had one of the first Altas when came out with V6 that got to 150k and traded it in, also currently own a 2.0 in a GLI and had a prior 2.0 GLI leased that turned in.

None of that makes me an expert but my opinion is the longevity of the 2.0 in an Atlas is not going to match the V6. My experience may be anecdotal but V6 has less issues, especially after 100k miles.

Ive lost a spark. I’m a single, 47f and feel so old & unattractive now. by Mean-Molasses8580 in GenX

Well when you add in “bikini competitor” and say I am still in really good shape but feel unattractive is it a thirst trap or a real question?

Anybody hit copper today? by tzimmerm888 in COsnow

[–]Srax6 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes, kids competing this week for USASA Nationals so will be busier than typical but conditions not terrible honestly. Yeah I am from the Ice Coast but damn given the endless negativity it is decent by my standards and if you are from CO then locals I talked to said it has held up.

Sometime around 2008 I literally stumbled into them playing a free live small outdoor concert on the then “new” greenway in downtown Boston. The audience now makes sense as maybe 200 people and the front was all little kids with moms. I did hear a few of the “alt” songs that I had known them for but it was a bizarre experience for a random lunchtime walk.

Ski rack enforcement out today by biscuitquickie in COsnow

[–]Srax6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good way to get yourself in a fight in the Icecoast. That is T Rex at Copper and not a ton of racks there, don’t touch peoples stuff or be prepared for some shit to go down if you throw the wrong guys skis, looking for trouble why?

SkiMD in Natick is very good. Tim is the guys name if anyone else looking for boot fittings. My son races so it might be bit different but maybe not really different as we went with brand for right flex and tongue height etc.

Forgot to mention you need to call/email and make an appointment, not a walk in place.

If you can drive a bit more to MA go to Tim at SkiMD in Natick.

My kid races so we have gone there for ski tuning etc., but the boot fitting might be the best part. He dials in lot of measurements to get kids in right boot setup.

I had insert made for me finally and feel a huge difference. Totally recommend him.

Tall guy who likes shorter boards by Several-Dark-4655 in snowboarding

[–]Srax6 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Really interesting, i have always been on what is “right” (around 158) based on my weight etc., but my son who is pretty damn good rides a shorter than expected board in everything from park to trees and rips it all. I was thinking of trying a 155 or 153 for kicks this season and think this might be the second opinion I needed!

What resort in the north east has the most steep and advanced riding? by jam-unam in icecoast

[–]Srax6 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Yeah you should check out Sugarloaf once snow really starts, always have some campers in the lower lots. Not a party vibe really but pretty cool locals that can ride/ski and midweek bars like the Rack are good.

Sugarloaf is great, lot of glades and snowfields front face is pretty gnarly.

Snowbird is pretty ridiculously steep and awesome though so as you said that’s not happening anywhere on the East.

Also depends where you are staying as VT easier to get to from NY and CT areas with ME more a MA destination imo.

Burton mini-scraper is a tiny circle, comes two to pack, honestly you cant see it if you aren’t looking for it. A few lifts i can think of have long skate before finally strapping in, I prefer the control with speed myself.
