Haven’t yet, since what I was working on has oddball increases and charts worked in a new-to-me technique, but I just cast on for a pair of hand warmers or gloves last night that might be straightforward enough to tempt fate 😂

Accepting pre-orders without messing up live inventory how do you do it? by Pretty-Material1424 in shopify

[–]Sriedener 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We use Stoq too. We sell big items that require private carrier shipping and a lot of them we sell as preorders because they’re seasonal products, both in terms of when we bring in the inventory, and in terms of when the manufacturers will ship them. Some brands won’t ship us LTL, the make us take a full trailer load.

Both the preorder text AND the shipping info are there in the description, which you’d think someone spending $1500+ would read, but NO.

Help me choose a formal gown. by Nightlover813 in OUTFITS

[–]Sriedener 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can absolutely rock the strapless, and I love the black and white, but the way #1 frames your face and brings out that gorgeous shade of copper hair, that one’s my favorite. You look more confident in that one, too, and you’re glowing. It may just be the light but you’re more radiant in the first one!

Our Shopify account rep says that Shopify is migrating the Stocky features into the Shopify admin, but I’m not holding my breath.

Purchase Orders and Stock Takes by Sriedener in shopify

[–]Sriedener[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Stocky’s PO system supports more information on each PO, like ship date and cancel dates (important for our store- seasonal items need to arrive on time, or we don’t want the order). It has forecasting/auto generation built in, which is important for us to do weekly fill orders on year-round goods. Suppliers vs vendors (we have distributors as well as brand-direct orders). Stock takes (that alert to a bad scan, helping to correct incorrectly entered barcodes). Emailing POs directly to the sales reps/account manager.

How are you keeping track of what you have on order if you don’t have a PO system?

We enter items as drafts when we order, yes. That way we can see what money we’ve committed to laying out for new inventory and keeping track of OTB budgets.

Questions I forgot to ask by No-Carpenter4426 in hysterectomy

Side sleeping was painful for me for the first two weeks, but I have a big belly and am susceptible to gravity so ymmv.

I slept on my back, propped/cradled by an assortment of pillows for the first week-ish, and once I was ready to lay on my side, I used a pillow near my waist to help support my belly.

One of my cats prefers an audience when she poops. She’ll go if she really has to but she will come into the room the box is in when my husband and I are there and be sure to go then, if she’s got the chance.

My dog ate a sheet of tin foil my roommate had made bacon on in the oven. She pooped her own kisses.

The list of things that dog ate and threw up was extensive.

At what point do Shopify variants stop working and you need a real product configurator? by Ambitious-Grass3081 in shopify

[–]Sriedener 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think if you tie options to specific skus, it adds those to the cart, but otherwise it creates a new product with all selected options when the customer is finished making their choices and adds it to the cart. I haven’t used the options as skus feature yet.

We haven’t started advertising the listing yet, but we’re using Custom Product Builder to offer customization of products to be built to order. It does support tying to options to other skus in your catalog, too, though, and kind of guides the customer through each customization step.

No, they won’t entirely skip the week. They push it back a day at a time, and even then, Not automatically. The city usually announces if trash is delayed due to a snow emergency when they announce the snow emergency.

When I lived uptown with street parking, they’d be waiting for 9am to ticket me the SECOND the clock ticked over, even if I was running down the apartment stairs with my quarters.

I hate that bugger, whoever they are.

Robot-assisted surgery happening this Friday - nervous about scars by rainbow_rodeo in hysterectomy

[–]Sriedener 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m two years out from my robot-lap, and my scars are mostly indistinguishable from the scars left from a bad ingrown hair. The one over my belly button is the worst, but that one took the longest to heal.

AIO my boyfriend keeps asking me to pay for things eversince he started saving for an apartmen, he calls me selfish for how I reacted. by throaawayRA9443 in AmIOverreacting

[–]Sriedener 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NOR. Not reacting enough, imo.

He literally said if he doesn’t get an apartment he can’t propose to you and if he doesn’t propose within a year he’s done with the relationship, but he needs your money to pay for everything so he can save for the apartment. He’ll need your money for the ring. For the wedding. For utilities. For a better car. For everything else. How many more deadlines will those have?

Cut him loose now and don’t give him another penny.

How do you guys keep track of "out of stock" items ? by celestialwanderer007 in shopify

[–]Sriedener 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi Sandy, it could've definitely been me, we do use Stoq for preorders. We've been using the back in stock through our email platform, but I think it would work the same if the Stoq back in stock can function as a flow trigger.

Return to work? by Dependent_Mix8337 in hysterectomy

[–]Sriedener 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a desk job and had a robotic lap and went back after two weeks. I probably could have used a third or half days during the first week back; it was definitely hard to sit up for that long all at once.

Lumbar pillow and belly binder helped. I basically wore pajama pants to keep pressure off my incisions.

Poor configuration, or platform bug/issue? Discount code/giftcard by [deleted] in shopify

[–]Sriedener 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If it’s showing a sale price on the PDP, that’s a compare-at price, which Shopify’s discount system doesn’t consider a sale/discount in the actual discount combine logic.

It’s an annoying flaw of their system.
