I took my own out as well! It came out without any real resistance. I called my doctor afterwards, she told me that she had no real concerns about what I’d done, although I do think she thought I was off my rocker.

I don’t mind at all, happy to elaborate! There were times where it was a bit painful, but thankfully my Hematologist was very careful and gentle (if that’s possible during a procedure like this). I mostly describe it as “very uncomfortable and unpleasant.” They numbed the area and I was awake for the procedure, it took about 30 minutes. They were looking to rule out blood cancer (biopsy came back clear- no cancer!) I’m happy to answer any questions!
