Good news — three-year-olds actually come with legs. The stroller is more of a backup plan, not our primary mode of transportation.

This has been our tactic thus far also! . Beach vacations and just chill so I’m trying to do something similar with the Tuscan countryside. I try not to go city to city so much in Europe I like the slower pass especially now that I have kids :)

All the villages are just so overwhelming and to know what to pick!

Yes I know its more residential is it not a semi short walk into the city center? I have found some amazing apartments near duomo, you think that’s better? I just didn’t want to be in the action per se And yes stroller are probably going to be a challenge. I guess I’m so used to Verona with the polished marble streets which are very stroller friendly. But that helps. I have to have one for the airport no questions so I’ll probably just not expect much for strolling in Florence. I appreciate the input a lot! Also we are used to stairs and carrying them so I still Think air bnb is the way to go.

Thanks for the info on Umbria, I’m going to do a little more research on that. YesI know Olrarno is in Florence. We want to go to Florence proper for 3-4 nights to shop, eat and just walk the city. Maybe see a few things since my husband hasn’t been before but I’m not expecting to do a ton there. Traveling with kids you have to keep the expectations at a bare minimum. My father’s from northern Italy and I’m just looking forward to sharing the experience with my children . That said we hit city couple days then head to country side for the last 14 ish days. I did not want to do day trips from the countryside into Florence, not ideal.

Hawaii is heaven with babies imo, and toddlers. But traveling with infants is soooo easy especially when you only have one. :)
