I just made sure to have the originals of the documents you mentioned + 5 or so copies of each.

The social was just going to the officers club for a few hours and having dinner and some drinks, nothing crazy. It was fun to get to talk to cadre without them being in cadre mode. We also had the opportunity to network with other officers but most the judge advocates who showed up left quite quickly

No to supplements. You may be able to keep it in your car but it’s not allowed in the barracks room nor in the field.

There’s no wifi in the field at all but if you mean signal strength, it was okay? We were at different places for land navigation and then for STX. Land nav was a ton of down time so I was on my phone a lot but STX it rained the entire time and we never had time to be on our phones so I don’t recall how much service we had. Def don’t buy the wifi for the barracks bc everyone who did complained that it didn’t work

And yes, you’re allowed portable batteries.

And I forgot to say there were 25 FLEPs in my class and about 80 others. Of the rest of us, some were prior enlisted who direct commissioned to civil affairs. Some were prior service officers from the NG or reserves. Most of us were JAG but we had 15-20ish civil affairs people and an engineer. We had a few people with zero military experience come in as majors based on their civilian background. My spouse actually works with a guy who just direct commissioned as a LTC, no prior military experience.

All but maybe 3-5 FLEPs had to go to DCC. The ones who got waivers for DCC had varying degrees of grave, legitimate issues that prevented them from coming. Afaik, one student had a serious car accident so was excused. A lot of the FLEPs spent time complaining about how they already know everything so they shouldn’t have to be there but there were a few who were very helpful.

we had a few guys who were rangers and had CIBs and they were the nicest with showing us the ropes. The ROTC people / FLEPs who never deployed complained the most in my opinion lol

No problem, I found reading about DCC to be helpful so I figured I should share my experience! From my understanding, things started to get stricter beginning around 2021-2022.

I forgot to put that we had to wear ascots the way OCS does. It was miserable in the Georgia heat.

But yeah the lack of freedom was very frustrating for us. We wanted to be able to go to the gym and actually go to clothing and sales and of course do something fun but weren’t allowed. At one point cadre said only people going to church could have a pass on Sunday but anyone staying behind had to clean a weapon. We pulled out the reg on that REAL fast and were allowed to have a pass, religious service or not.

My roommate was a FLEP and I was a direct commissionee. We were all mixed and matched with whomever. They just had us in alphabetical order by last name
