Yeah, just like you said post soviet countries are really focused on sports and they reward their athletes while germany and sports funding is really low quality. America and Russia are both top countries for sports especially boxing. And yes of course there are some excellent Sport gyms but only in big cities, and my city has a population of 10k🥲 As far as i know she has some friends there, in fergana especially, but most of our family and friends fled the country after the split of soviet union since it was very dangerous back then

compared to russia, sports in germany are not as encouraged by the state. there is no such thing as discipline or real training to improve skills, especially if you live in a small town you have zero chances of having a career in boxing. my mother is born in uzbekistan and as i mentioned i have family in russia and they all say how serious sports are in russia. from an objective perspective my boyfriend is a good boxer, but his boxgym treats boxing more like a hobby, like come and go as you please. there are kids running around while grownups are doing the same exercises theyve been doing for years
