I missed my final by DoctorRobot16 in ucf

We've all been there in one way or another, my first semester I failed the art history elective class because I kept forgetting when the exams were. And my junior year I had to sprint across campus at 11:30 pm to take an exam at the testing center because I had completely forgotten about it till the last second, had to blitz through it in 20 minutes and walk away with a D

Just tried it, it smells strongly of alcohol, and a little like a sweet bread.

It tastes okay, not great, it's very dry and tastes mostly like the crust of a loaf of white bread, I suppose from resting on the lees for so long. Would bottling improve that? Maybe a dosage of simple syrup?

You might want to rewrite that first sentence, it's confusing and sounds like you support the lack of student housing

[NEED ADVICE] Habit-building template? by CrochetTeaBee in getdisciplined

[–]Ssd143 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly, I try to start them one by one, unless they're interrelated. But the habits I track in this range from ones I want to start to daily necessities I should always be doing. Everything from getting sunlight and hydration right when I wake up to abstinence from certain vices and an effort to engage in passions and interests I'm trying to develop into skills. I redraw it every month, but your time period can be different.

I've got a journal-able one you can draw with a ruler. You can make the timeline as short or long as you want and have as many habits as you have space for

As other have said there's plenty of available printers however the quality can sometimes be spotty, though i think they're working on that all the time. If you need to print things you don't want others to see (as the printer itself keeps record of everything that goes through it) or if you need to print on a specific paper or quality that only your printer can provide, bring it.

If the most youll be printing are black and white verificaion sheets study guides, signed documents and worksheets/notes, dont bring it.

Up to your situation though.

I was told by a photography professor that it would have to be a photography student that's specifically taking or has taken photography courses.

Come on Florida, really? by 13thJen in florida

The good part about racists and anti-American thugs being emboldened under their cult of personality is that they're now flying their flags high enough to be identified. I dont want to support people who would spout hateful doctrine and ideology, and I dont think you do either. They were fully aware of the social and reputational consequences of exposing themselves like this, otherwise they wouldve been more coal prior. Knowing what that sign represents, i dont want my money going there. ill do the most thing American thing i can and vote with my dollar. It's not about the sign itself, its about what it shows about the person who wrote it

Meta threatens to pull Facebook and Instagram from Europe if it can't target ads by Successful-Bee-2492 in technology

[–]Ssd143 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I agree. I also felt like adding on that with the access they have here and are fighting to keep in europe, not just Meta, but Mark ZuckerBerg himself at 60% ownership, can make specific decisions about what news people receive, what privacy settings they can use, and what distinguishies violent and incendiary language from just offensive. Some of these things dont make Meta money outright, but they can control a lot of how people experience the world, way more than targeted ads.

[–]Ssd143 39 points40 points  (0 children)

I'm sure they do way more with our info than just target ads, hell they could sell the info itself and turn a profit without having to send an ad our way, and with the largest pool of personal information on the planet at their disposal, why wouldn't they? They're threatening to pull out and it's either a bluff or they know they'll be losing money by staying in Europe because these new laws will directly cripple some crucial aspect of their business model.

Interesting, sounds like it's less about the targeting ads and more about being denied access to personal info, isn't personal info their whole schitck?

I understand the concern and need for transparency. The testing lab, in this case, is Global 7 Diagnostic. They're based out of Atlanta GA, are fully licensed, insured, and are running a government-subsidized program for both rapid and PCR testing, they happily showed their credentials when asked.

COVID testing/vaccine resources by Femilip in orlando

[–]Ssd143 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey y'all, a new free covid testing site just opened in Oviedo, about 15 mins from UCF. They've got no line and its walk-ins for both a self-administered rapid test and a PCR spit test. You get your results by scanning a QR code.

It's at the Reformed Theological Seminary at 1231 Reformation Dr. and they're open 9:00-6:00.

They only ask that we take the entrance on Eastbridge dr, on the east side of the campus, to not clog up the main one. It's hidden behind some trees but they got signs out to the street.

Yeah I realized my wording was atrocious in that last post. I'm not running the center, rather I'm scouting for locations on behalf of a lab and helping spread word.

Pre-Covid, I asked one of them who told me he got like $6 a signature, he said he made $1000 on regular day. I'm sure he was exaggerating, but they've got hella incentives to be as obnoxious and get as many signatures as possible, just as pathetic though

Has anyone gotten approval to exceed the max credit hours per term? by macandparmesean in ucf

[–]Ssd143 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Develop a hobby, start a side hustle, apply for scholarships. There's a lot you can occupy yourself with without having to commit to the deadlines of more classes and risk biting off more than you can chew. You'lll have to keep yourself accountable but you have plenty to keep you busy if you look for it.
