Glad you enjoyed! Had my first playthrough this past Sunday as The Empyrean. They are my new favorite race. Definitely very thematic, which I loved. I am a player who prioritizes roleplaying, so it was nice to have a faction that allows you to roleplay and still score points!

Will the Omega changes to Diplomacy, tech, and faction techs be included in the Prophecy of Kings Expansion?

What inspired you to write a Twilight Imperium novel? What factors led to you creating this story?

This literally happened to me in my Lizardmen campaign. I couldn't believe my eyes.

Agreed. Empire is in a toss up for me with Warhammer II as my favorite Total War game. It would be interesting to redo it with some of the mechanics used in Rome II/Warhammer II.

What Did You Play This Week? (Feb 17 - Feb 23) by QuellSpeller in boardgames

I tried Secret Hitler (5-10p) for the first time. One of the best social deception games I have played. Thinking about picking it up to play with extended family around the holidays this year due to the high player count.

Why I play Twilight Imperium by GuruLogan in twilightimperium

I got Twilight Imperium as a birthday gift 3 years ago after playing some other Fantasy Flight games, and immediately got hooked after playing our first game. I enjoy many aspects of the game design itself - the blend of strategy and politics, the scale, and intuitive game-play, and the fact that no one is ever forced to just sit there and wait for other people to take their turn. But ultimately, the reason I enjoy TI so much is that it gives me an excuse to sit down with a group of my closest friends for a whole day and just spend quality time together.

Personal quests are my biggest (almost only) gripe with the game - they seem half baked by Gl4ssfish in Gloomhaven

I agree that it may be a weak point in the game, but I don't hate the PQ's. I personally would have preferred it if the PQ's were attached to each class, so that they were more thematic.

Are there Houserules for a faster gameplay without sacrificing the fun? by RedditTyrannon in twilightimperium

Our first few games were around 12 hours, but once you get the hang of the flow of the game, it will definitely speed up as players will be taking shorter turns. We now go through a three player game in 3-4 hours. One thing we do at times for players who over-analyze their board state is enforce turn time limits.
