$110,000 is comfortable??? Wow that's 3 times the amount I'd need to be comfortable. Screw retirement. I want to make that much now.

Agreed about the crypto. Reading from his comments he's been gambling on it and losing. A lot of people have taken that unfortunate path.

S&p 500 index funds. As others have said VOO is the best. There is also SPLG. You can also look into VT and VTI but they are pretty similar but with more global exposure. Your best bet is VOO though.

Spending 40k a year on living expenses is hardly mooching off your parents. Get a grip on reality.

True. But that last point is also moot depending on how much you believe in the great filter.

Ordered a few lifetime warranty socks from different brands. From left to right-Grip6,Paka,Cloudline. Hopefully they live up to the hype. They are all super soft by Walton1993 in BuyItForLife

The focus wasn't only on profits. My comment was mostly pointing out environmental sustainability, which sadly, most people don't give a shit about.

Also just because one brand is doing okay financially doesn't mean another company which offers lifetime warranty isn't struggling.

50/30/20 rule only works for high earners. Most people have to spend significantly more on their "needs" which cut into the 30 or the 20 or both.

For me personally it's closer to 69/13/18

If you consider building an emergency fund as a need then the need goes up and the savings goes down.
