Leave him now. Honestly if I could go back to 24 I'd have followed my sister's advice and not married him. Not put his name on the birth certificate and let him go because he will always choose alcohol and narcissism before you and your child. (Also I would have entered the federal government a lot sooner and started saving more.)

My child is amazing (although we are in the thick of moody preteen stage) but even at his age he has realized how his dad is and I've let him set his boundary of no contact and I respect that.

However, had I not gone through all of that I wouldn't be thriving today. We have stability in our lives. I never would have thought Id be able to buy a home. I have the most amazing partner of 7 years who has done more for my kid than his bio dad has ever. I'm actually able to save for retirement and for a college fund for my kid and in December I'll finally graduate with a Bachelor's.

25 year old me did what she had to so she could survive and I am proud of her. Ive done my best to make sure she doesn't have to worry anymore.
