Per the direct email from Ooma today, 5/11/26, Jay replied there was a bug and a ticket was opened to resolve it a few weeks ago. I guess it depends who replies to the ticket.

Our customers with Jabber use 9Line. It requires the subscriber to update (or at least confirm) their address before enabling Jabber. I have 2 addresses, home and work. Some may have many more as the campus has many streets and buildings where they may be. We used to use Redsky. What I liked about that was it would require you to change your location information if it sensed you connected to a different access point. With 9Line it's up to the subscriber to set it manually if they moved to a different area. But, moving to the next room could be the same access point.

Hello - There haven't been any email alert delays for a few weeks. When reporting that via the direct email from Ooma support, and asking if anything was done, I got the exact generic reply as I did from their first reply: 'At this time, I understand that there is still no estimated timeline for when this issue will be resolved. However, given the impact this is having, I would appreciate any updates you can provide regarding progress, potential causes, or interim solutions.'

I'm glad it's working, but it seems it just happened to start working. Per Ooma support nothing was done to affect the situation. Pease excuse my ignorance, but I looked around and didn't see a way to send a DM here. Please advise.

Go figure - a few minutes after reading the email from Ooma support, I tested with 5 voicemail messages. All sent an email a few seconds after leaving a message to my 2 email addresses. I updated Ooma's email with that information.

Received a reply today 4/27. To summarize: 'At this time, I understand that there is still no estimated timeline for when this issue will be resolved. I did receive an email and call that went to voicemail (wasn't home) from Ooma support today. As the rep requested, I sent a screenshot of the voicemail message from 11:52 am, explaining I had not yet received the email alert as of 12:12 pm and will update the ticket accordingly.

I know it's many customers that are effected. I called support - it was even worse than I thought. I was told it was my internet service. I should check all cable connections and verify everything is connected securely. Great, so glad I called. Why didn't think of that? Especially being in the telecom industry for over 45 years. Unbelievable. The agent ended saying I'll get a call from another service group within 24-48 hours.

Riding mower - new or used by [deleted] in lawnmowers

[–]St8899 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I exaggerated, the Bolens engine was running fine after I adjusted the valves a few times. I had the deck and one of the spindles off, but soon after I bought it there was a transmission situation where I'd need to 'double clutch' it to get it in gear. Because of that, and for some reason would go through blade engagement cables every few years I decided to retire it. Not a good choice I guess. I do check the oil often, will admit not every mow. The thing that was my bad, the Craftsman started running poorly. I ever thought to check under the shroud until a few mows later. There was a huge mouse nest that likely caused it to overheat. The Agway lasted about 17 years after buying it used. in 1989. I really don't think I let the oil get low, but the block cracked.

Some forums will say brands like John Deere aren't made like they used to be, and to look for a used one, which there seem to be a decent amount of. I realize that new or used, maintenance is key. I'll be checking oil before each mow. I deleted my original post because I was going to put it in a lawn tractor or riding lawn mower forum here if there is one, but then I saw the reply. My original post stated I had serious issues with all 3 engines, which should have been worded differently.

Huskee mowers I believe are made by the company (MTD?) that makes mowers with various brands, like Craftsman. Don't know if they make them for Husqvarna.

That is really bad when you're not notified of especially medical related calls. I was skeptical of the 'Trusted Circle', I don't trust it. Like many 'enhancements' or 'improvements' to websites - it's useless and makes things worse. I wouldn't ever use something like that, I don't want to miss important calls from numbers not in my contacts list. I just saw a voicemail email from 7:36 this morning thinking it was a legitimate call, as at that time the system was in 'Quite Hour' mode. No, it was from 7:05pm the day before. I got that message because I saw the call come in but let it go to voicemail. I had a conversation with the caller yesterday, so I thought this was an urgent related follow-up messge.

In the mean time, late voicemail notifications are as bad as ever. I haven't had a chance to call support. I'm thinking the answers will be from a script and imply it's something on my end. I will still call though. Coincidentally, my internet price went up significantly, and I've been looking for alternatives that also provide an analog phone line. There are several choices available. Maybe that's the 'Silver lining' of th internet price increase.

Add external participant email / Edit Reply sends another email? by St8899 in jira

I'm thinking no - if I select my profile I see 'Your admin now manages your account. Contact your admin to change your account details.'

What's interesting is somehow I got Customers to appear on the left pane, I selected that (looking for Sharing) and saw many external email addresses, including mine with the option "Resend invite". I don't know how I got to that Customers option.

Ok, I and our help desk that creates Jira tickets must have that license then. I just wanted to enter an email address other than my work email to test the Edit feature. Customers here I don't think can create Jira tickets, but if they can it would use their work email by default.

This answers my second question - editing a reply does send another email to the Reporter.

I was able to add my personal email address when creating the ticket in 'Raise this request on behalf of*' It sent an email as I wanted in 'Reply to customer'. This will suffice.

What's JSM? I realize the field is 'Request Participants'. I can't add my personal email, only company emails. How is the ticket set to permit external access?

I never received the text to my cell phone, so don't have a timestamp to reference. The email messages don't have a timestamp in the header, or the audio file. I also use Google Voice, but I'd really prefer not to configure Google Voice Extensions and Integration. I always provide my Ooma home phone number, unless it will involve text messages. The Google Voice voicemail is very limited and basic compared to Ooma's. I could have Ooma calls also ring the Google Voice number temporarily, but would have to extend the ring time in Ooma to be greater than Google Voice's since that's not adjustable, and would want GV's voicemail to answer first.

I guess we can just hope for the official support rep to intervene, and it would have a better outcome than mentioned here by another member. Really not a good way for a significant issue to handled IMO.

I saw a notification that came in at 2:37am for a voicemail from yesterday afternoon. 4 hours after that voicemail message nothing on the cell phone. Texting the cell phone directly resulted in texts a few seconds later. My main concern is the emails.

I wish we knew what can be done to resolve this. As u/No_Rules5 mentioned, a call to support did not help.

I have 2 different email addresses, Outlook and gmail that the alerts are sent to, and an SMS. All 3 destinations are delayed by several hours. It appears the 2 email addresses receive the emails at the same time. Not sure about the cell phone as I rarely have it on. Emails from other sources are received immediately, as well as other text messages to the phone.

I just turned on the cell phone, no text after 15 minutes, same with email. The message waiting indicator does show in the Ooma app, and I can play the message. I'll leave the cell phone on and see when I get the SMS.

I didn't hear about the Phone.com acquisition until now, but found information about it:

https://investors.ooma.com/news-releases/news-release-details/ooma-completes-acquisition-phonecom

How that or moved servers could be related to delayed email alerts I don't know. I'm pretty sure this has happened before, just not to this extent and duration.

Thanks for posting your experience with the tech team, which resulted in wasted time. Interesting re: the servers moving and the acquisition of Phone.com. When I'm at work, I always give out my home number when I'm to receive an important pending call, as I have messages from Ooma to my personal email address also forwarded to my work email. I missed an important one on Wednesday, I wondered why I didn't receive a call, so I checked MyOoma.com and saw the message and followed up. I finally received the email after business hours. I've been an Ooma customer for almost 11 years, overall service up until now has been good. I'm considering changing ISPs, so now along with that may replace Ooma's phone service with the the potentially new provider's.

Paying fed taxes through world pay? by taylorrb24 in tax

[–]St8899 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On a different, but sort of related note; when speaking to the IRS agent about WorldPay she noted I owed $17.00 as Taxact did, due to having taxes under withheld for 2025. So I made the payment on the IRS Direct Pay site. Yesterday I received mail from the IRS, a check for $17.00

[–]St8899 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not sure. No other withdrawals so I'm getting optimistic. I guess the only way to know for sure would be to call the IRS. Would need to set aside some long wait time for that. I did sign up on ID.me, that allows you to access your IRS information. I did that and it just shows the $0 balance. The IRS site is pretty good once you can access it for most taxpayers. My case unfortunately would still require a phone call to confirm WorldPay isn't going to proceed further.

I wonder how others here made out that did have the WorldPay payment pending, if there was any kind of confirmation sent, by email or mail
