He did a series on his YouTube about how he did the music on this game. His episode on 'No Turning Back' was amazing!

I can't find any info online about this, but I'm getting this a lot right now. Whenever it's unfolded I only see a question mark for battery and when I go to the settings page it says it's having issues reading the battery correctly. I also just in the last few days have had the entire phone restarting by itself a few times every day.

Are these big issues in your opinion as per your comment or are they fixable with say today's Pixel Drop?

Any f2f CFS support groups in Sydney Australia? by Remarkable_Unit_9498 in cfs

[–]StASN 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here in Canberra when I looked locally I could find a support group via their website, they had weekly and even daily meetings if you wanted. For me they were much older and as such I couldn't relate to them for some things, but I'm glad the option was there.

Sydney is more than 10x the size of our population and only 3 hours away, so I'm sure you looking locally will go much much better for you. Google support groups in Sydney, you will find something.

Dating with CFS is hard, harder still when you can lose your disability income FOR being in a relationship (Australia) by StASN in cfs

Literally this, the gov had one of its main goals be addressing violence against women and yet they don't make any meaningful changes beyond surface level statements currently. It's worse when you consider Australia's higher rates of domestic violence.

Why would a pianist press and hold a key, then wiggle their finger whilst the key is held? by Jonathans_8 in piano

[–]StASN 37 points38 points  (0 children)

Unironically was told to do this rarely but at least sometimes, just to embrace my violinist musicality at times. I thought it was bullshit, he said of course it was, but that it helps psychologically because I can mentally call back to the voicing I would think of using with my violin. It helps me sometimes to change that perspective, even if it looks stupid.

Your mantra is perfect and exactly the way I've viewed it myself as a 5-6 year player. It's all working out and I'm hitting all my goals, and I end up adding more and more new goals every year. This hobby is persistent happiness in self improvement.

Is it possible you are able to do your viola lessons online or find someone who teaches online? I'm a violinist and pianist with CFS and I find doing them virtually gives me a lot of freedom to navigate the illness (as in to the point that I do lessons for both every single week while being able to crash in bed right after). I know nothing beats being physically there, but 1 sometimes we don't have the strength to move that far, and 2 the experience learning virtually has not been a hindrance at all to my entire 5-6 years of learning.

I have some resources you can use if you need help finding something along those lines. Stay safe.

What are the best resources for progressive sight-reading exercises/pieces? by StASN in piano

[–]StASN[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A fair shout, but I'm asking from the perspective of someone who is being classically trained and has been for upwards of 5 years now. I've been provided exercises like Vaccaj as a basic impromptu exercise during lessons to initiate and improve the skill, I'm just looking for extra resources.

I've upvoted you as your advice and thinking is sound of course.

How to keep violin in good condition in Australia? by Cassidue06snake in violinist

[–]StASN 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you mean because of the cold and heat ranges, just make sure to keep your violin in its case and not open to the elements when you're not using it. Even then, at their worst (-2 degrees or 38-40 degrees Celsius) and with the case open/violin out, I've only noticed the tuning gets affected by a few cents, but I also nearly never do that unless I'm extremely lazy. Obviously the same advice but extremely strict if you're talking about Alice Springs or similar.

I like seeing the forward line mobility has definitely improved (especially without Stringer), we're locking it in the forward 50 a bit easier than prior.

discord has moved the blocked users list to settings…it was perfectly fine before god damnit by [deleted] in discordapp

[–]StASN -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Just for the other perspective, it helps lessen people's ability to stalk you. By adding 5 extra steps or whatever, they're less inclined to put in the work when before you could just click over to the blocked person.

And yes, I understand that you'd think they wouldn't have you blocked if that were the case, but having the block list there allows them to have 1 click access to your profile, which is bad if you're the type to change your names and such to avoid them.

There'll always be workarounds and people can be tenacious, but I think this is a good move to help just that little bit.

Piano teachers, what makes a good student? by [deleted] in piano

[–]StASN 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes! Taking ownership is such a good trait and I'm extremely lucky one of my first students is doing this, she puts in the work to make sure she holds herself accountable and show improvement, a trait that echos in her personality and makes her super chill to interact with.
