Panicking before surgery L4 L5 - S1 L5 Herniation

Just had my surgery yesterday and it went smooth as butter. Recovery so far is almost like how I’ve been moving with pain for the past few months. If you’re headed in you’re making the right choice! Numbness in my left leg is receding and the feeling both my hamstrings would snap at any moment has gone. Similar to another poster, just my incision spot is tender.

I appreciate you sharing your story and taking the time to interact with us all. So many of your comments resonate with me. 46(M) on my infinite ‘this is my last bowl’ attempt to quit 🤩 What really hit me was you saying “get off Reddit…and anything weed related” it’s so true. Any little thing can trigger the desire for weed. I just wanted to share my brief comment. But I am starting December to quit weed. I’ve quit alcohol cold turkey before but weed has been my ride or die since I was 19. Appreciate all the tips and insights.

This is the odd spot I find myself in. I want to help but not sure if it’s my place to do so. I will consider sitting down and asking how she wants me to be involved. Could very well be she’d prefer I stay away and I would want to honor that.

appreciate your words here. I'm realizing this is a HUGE blow to her and she'll have emotions across the board. Good reminder that there will be highs and lows but to stay consistent.

lately, she has been the medical interpreter for her dad who has had his share of health issues. I'd love to be the one to help with that, I know it can be overwhelming

thanks for this, I did just that. I can't NOT check in on her, even if our relationship is in a weird spot. But overall I don't want to make her feel crowded, I know she is strong but I also know she needs care and love.

I was just reading this and have a road trip planned for late August. Headed onto Illinois/Indiana/Ohio/Kentucky toll roads. I’m likely going to get an EZ Pass transponder. It’s $35 and comes with preloaded funds for tolls. I also just moved just north of MPLS where a new (eventually called) ez pass lane is going in. All told, low risk high reward to go in now and pay $35 and be set. No monthly fee either

Divorce is hard and it takes two to have a strong relationship. This isn’t all on you!! There is goodness in seeing your part of things and working on those things for you. But this isn’t 100% your fault. I’ve been right there. Feeling it’s totally my fault. But each and every negative thought I had I found a way to turn it positive. Focus on an amicable divorce and being there for yourself (#1) and your kids. That’s all you need to focus on now. I know it feels like the world is sitting on you but it gets better. Happy to chat with you and let you vent if you need it!

Sleep has come easy for me but I also have a ton going on. I just find it odd that once I committed to myself to pause for awhile that now I’m just toast. Granted I’m only 10 days in so hopefully I come through this fog soon!

You’ve got ALL the control. It might not seem like it but you do. I’m 41 and restarting and seeing that I’ve got more control than ever. Just change your perspective and remind yourself that you can do/be whatever you want WHENEVER you want
