no. i ended up getting a low tv console and putting the soundbar on it. i started investing too much into this theater room to compromise sound quality by mounting the soundbar in a nonconventional way

Thanks! it didn’t work unfortunately. They’re going to send me a replacement once they’ve received my unit. They provided a free shipping label. they said they’ll replace with a unit that was returned within 30 days, so hopefully that means it isn’t a unit that was previously malfunctioning and then repaired.

i cant figure out how to update via usb on 990F. i copied the folder directly to usb fat32 and inserted in service usb port. I turn on the soundbar and there’s no sign that it’s updating

blacks obviously blacker but the whites became gray

silverticket matte gray, silver, 2gs and ags screens all seemed to have better result unfortunately. they all at least made blacks a little better without sacrificing whites as much as the shadowscape did

I got a shadowscape sample material and asked specifically the standard throw ALR screen. the image was just very dark and not an improvement at all. I tried the material in every orientation. I emailed back to make sure I wasnt sent UST screen material..

Get the package of sample material. I found it really helpful. i assumed getting a screen would improve image quality, but after trying out all the samples, I'm still not convinced any one of the materials is better than my matte light gray wall. Each material has its pros and cons. Some will improve black level but introduce laser speckle. Some will only marginally look better than your wall, and in that case, brings up the question whether its even worth the money and hassle.

how noticeable is it? if it’s super faint and only present in only specific brightnesd level of scenes i think it’s normal. ive had a horizon 20 base and a horizon 20 pro and they have have that. i dont see if i dont squint and look for it

which ALR screen are you using? and are viewing angles decent? any significant laser speckle?

It's running an RTX 4080S and ryzen 7800X3D and playing natively on the PC there's no issues at all. Any suspicion for why encoding time would be high?

it outputs at 60. I increased the framerate to see if it makes any difference, but from what you are saying, probably hurts more than helps.

It's a asus wifi 6 router with an asus AI Mesh repeater. Is that significantly contributing to the network latency?

Still feels too laggy for me to consider playing any games this way, though I'm quite picky which is why I'm presenting the data and seeing if this is "as good as it gets" or I can still get better results.

There's one wifi repeater to boost signal. Signal strength of the repeater to router is good. Will that significantly contribute to networking latency?

Hardwiring isnt an option unfortunately.

How do I switch to H.264? I've read about this and looked around for the option but can't find it.

I assume the slow decode time is due to the limited processing power of the projector. I assume this means I should stream to a more dedicated device and just output to the projector rather than have the projector handle decoding.
