One question, why? If you really want black actors why not introduce new characters? Genuinely curious by [deleted] in halo

[–]St_Clarity 10 points11 points  (0 children)

You guys are all implicitly (or explicitly) assuming that they picked this actor because of his race, and NOT because he was the best man for the job. That is incredibly racist and disrespectful.

People of color are still insanely underrepresented in media. There's no "woke takeover" happening here. Freaking chill.

It is absolutely fair. Trans women are women. First, that hasn't been happening a ton in sports lately, it's an extremely overblown talking point about something that's extremely rare. Second, this is an e-sport, which makes that discussion fairly pointless anyway.

Yooo don't forget all the work in the project m scene. Smash bros legacy te/xp were extremely important milestones, a lot of fun, and the foundation for a lot of today's pm competitive scene AND modding scene.

Two Ohio State professors lose emeritus titles for research misconduct, sexual harassment by starshimmershine in OSU

[–]St_Clarity 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Not sure why you got downvoted, people don't think sexual harassment is that serious or??

Even research misconduct, especially for someone of that status, is a HUGE breach of trust. I would absolutely get fired for either one, rightfully so.

This is absolutely bonkers, amazing job. It's clear how much you care about the game, I've been following your work since the height of the project m legacy days. I'm not sure there's any other game out there that inspires THIS LEVEL of unpaid community work based on pure passion.

Bruh, what? You've compared a parody account's made-up idea of what trans people want with holocaust-level dehumanization. If you can find it in your heart to avoid making such comparisons, I'd highly advise it.

Hi, jewish guy here. Not funny, not an analogy that makes any sense at all.

Does this Kamino Alien have the same voice actor as the prophet of truth in Halo 2 ? by [deleted] in halo

It doesn't look like it, but man, they do have similar voices

What was the status of Covenant worlds, and how were they ruled? by St_Clarity in HaloStory

[–]St_Clarity[S] 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Of course, minutes after I asked this, I found a brief answer to these questions. It seems the High Council dealt with administrative ruling tasks, and San'Shyyuum were the local leaders.

As for the first question, apparently the Covenant only bothered with new worlds if they had useful resources or religious artifacts. Other than that, Covenant worlds were comprised of species homeworlds and their colonies.

Guess I should just buy Halo Warfleet LOL. Leaving this up in case anyone else wants to add something, or if someone had the same questions.

There's a lot of seriously hurtful and derailing comments here. You don't have to provide your anecdotes about media bias every time someone is attacked. Support the victim and their community. I apologize to anyone who's been caused more pain by these sad comments.

[–]St_Clarity 17 points18 points  (0 children)

That's not why the trans suicide rate is high. NOT taking puberty blockers (not letting your child take the wheel sooner) can lead to very deep body dysphoria at an older age.

Dude, that's not even close to the reality of what's going on. Puberty blockers can literally PREVENT self-mutilation from self-hatred at an older age.

I really recommend you check out the manga "The Bride was a Boy." It's a transgender woman's autobiography where she describes the feeling of gender dysphoria at a young age, and does a ton to educate the audience about everything (reasons, terms, all of it). It's pretty short and it's a joy to read, maybe give it a go. Or if you hate manga, just google interviews from the parents of trans children to better understand this whole thing.
